Tottenham hero expected to leave the club in summer after 11 years

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is expected to leave the club at the end of the season.

The 36-year-old Frenchman has not been at his best this season and his error-prone performances have cost Tottenham valuable points.

The North London giants need to replace him as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper if they want to challenge for major trophies and a report from the Athletic claims that his time at Tottenham could end after 11 years.

Lloris is undoubtedly a club legend and he has helped Spurs complete a high level over the last few seasons.

However, the French international is clearly on the decline and Tottenham must look to bring in a new first-choice goalkeeper.

The report from Athletic claims that Fraser Forster is likely to stay at the club as the second-choice goalkeeper but Lloris could be moved on.

Tottenham have been linked with a number of goalkeepers in recent months and it remains to be seen whether they can find a quality replacement.

Meanwhile, Lloris has a contract with the London club until the summer of 2024 and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. The French international could still be a quality acquisition for mid-table clubs and he should have no shortage of suitors if he is made available this summer.

Meanwhile, the 36-year-old is a high earner at Tottenham and his departure will free up funds to bring in quality players as well.

Lloris will now look to help Tottenham finish the current season as strongly as possible.
