Tottenham have made ‘some movement’ to bring 33-yr-old back to the Premier League

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing the former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

The 33-year-old goalkeeper has done well for Juventus but he is expected to leave the club this summer.

According to Calciomercato, the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham have made ‘some movement’ to bring the player back to the Premier League this summer.

The Polish international has proven his quality in English football in the past and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for Tottenham. The north London giants will have to bring in a replacement for Hugo Lloris this summer.

The 36-year-old Frenchman has been a shadow of his former self and his poor performances have cost his side valuable points.

The World Cup winner is simply not good enough to start for Tottenham every week and they will have to find a quality replacement.

Spurs have been linked with goalkeepers like David Raya in recent weeks and it will be interesting to see who they end up signing eventually.

The Poland international is reportedly up for sale if there is a suitable offer on the table he could be signed for a bargain. The 33-year-old will be out of contract at the Italian club next season and he has just 12 months left on his current deal.

If Tottenham fails to find a suitable long-term replacement for Lloris, Szczesny could prove to be a quality short-term acquisition. The 33-year-old has the quality and the experience to play for a top club and he knows English football well.

It will be interesting to see if the Polish international is willing to join Tottenham given his allegiance with Arsenal in the past.
