Tottenham have ‘held talks’ with 26-yr-old’s representatives over a summer move – Manchester United also interested

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race to secure the signing of Leeds United defender Robin Koch, as reported by 90min.

According to the report, both Tottenham and Manchester United have held talks with Koch’s agent, expressing their interest in a potential summer transfer.

In addition to Tottenham and Manchester United, Brentford, Newcastle United, and Nottingham Forest are also said to be keen on acquiring the services of the talented defender.

Koch, 26, finds himself in a favorable position with just one year remaining on his contract at Leeds United, who were recently relegated to England’s second tier.

Sky Sports revealed yesterday that Manchester United have already initiated loose talks with the player.

And now 90min reports that Tottenham have also spoken with Koch’s representatives.

This is going to be a typical Daniel Levy signing who is not known for spending big but often prefers shrewed deals such like this one.

Due to Leeds’ relegation and Koch’s contract situation, he would likely be available for a reduced fee.

While the German defender has received offers from Bundesliga clubs, 90min reports that his preference is to remain in England, presenting an opportunity for Tottenham to secure his services.

Tottenham’s new manager, Ange Postecoglou, is reportedly keen on bolstering the club’s defensive options, with a center-back being a position that has been prioritised.

Alongside Koch, other names linked with Tottenham include Harry Maguire and Marc Guehi.

With the transfer window now officially open, it will be interesting to see who emerges victorious in the pursuit of Robin Koch.
