Tottenham and Bournemouth have already contacted Giovanni Leoni’s agents, according to TheBoyHotspur

Centre back Leoni is reportedly open to a Premier League move, but the player has yet to make a final decision. Napoli are also in this race to sign Leoni.

Inter, in particular, admires his play-making ability and views him as a long-term investment. Milan, meanwhile, has made him a priority target as part of their plan to rejuvenate their backline.

Interest has been simmering for a while

Interest in the lad dates back a few months, with the suggestion that Spurs might be in the mix first being aired by Ekrem Konour on X. There was talk of him joining Inter and Juventus last year, but negotiations failed due to issues during the talks.

A €25 million opening bid could arrive in the coming weeks, but The Boy Hotspur understands that his agents are seeking an even bigger number, and as much as €35 million might be required to match Parma’s ambitions.

Our view

Given the development of youth at Spurs, which has seen the likes of Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall make regular first-team appearances, there are no restrictions on who might be in the running to play under Thomas Frank.

This is precisely the type of player that Spurs ought to look to recruit, if they are not seeing this type of talent come up through the ranks in the Academy.

Frank has a solid track record at plucking unheard-of players at Brentford and shining them up into valuable Premier League stars. This is something that ought to especially appeal to the player himself.

There’s an interesting article here providing context as to just how fast this boy has caught football’s imagination.
