Tottenham gets boost in bid to keep Kane as Man City turns to European goal machine

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham has received a minor boost in their bid to keep Harry Kane for another season as it seems Manchester City is turning their attention towards other targets.

City has been the favourites to sign the 27-year-old this summer after he asked to leave Tottenham.

The striker has been focused on helping England win Euro 2020, but now that the competition is over, he will look to sort out his future.

Tottenham wants to keep him and one way to achieve that is to price his suitors out of a move for him.

They have done that by setting an asking price of £150m for anyone serious about signing him.

And it seems to be working with The Daily Mail reporting that City is now considering a move for Robert Lewandowski.

The Bayern Munich attacker is one of the best in the world and at 32, he is still scoring goals for fun and rarely has fitness problems.

The report says he has two more years left on his current Bayern deal and the Germans could sell him if they have no plans to offer him a new one.

He currently earns around £300,000 a week and scored 41 league goals last season to justify that otherwise huge salary.

Fecked off with making runs, and no one having the football intelligence to find him… not sure how/why Sterling is the most undroppable player in the England first 11…and media angel? certainly the most selfish player I’ve seen to ever wear an England shirt. Kane is likely quietly seething why Grealish couldnt get more minutes or where the Reece James at Chelsea was…

There was something not quite right about Harry at the Euros. I know he scored a few goals and got no service but that dynamic player who would shoot on sight was nowhere to be seen.

Was it overuse over too many years. I don’t know. Another year of carrying his team on his back with no rest and no capable striker to back him up is asking for trouble.

I’m not being funny but if we are looking for central defenders with PL experience Cahill, van Aanholt and Valbuena are all available. They would cost next to nothing on short term deals with options.Cahill in particular would be ideal as a solid pro for Rodon to learn from.

Levy can’t not like a free transfer.

First of all United are favourites they have offered players ( lingard, martial etc) plus money. I also find it strange when I keep reading ” spurs want to keep Kane so they are asking 150 million” well…..why not ask 200 million so we will be sure that no one will buy him.
