Tottenham fans react to reports that target is on the verge of joining

By Bruce Grove -

According to the latest report from This is Futbol, Tottenham is set to complete a move for Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik in the coming days.

The Lilywhites will bring a long search for a striker to an end by completing the move for the striker.

They have struggled to complete a move for any of their striker targets so far with potential new signings knowing well that they will have to play second fiddle to Harry Kane.

Milik was scheduled to join AS Roma this summer, but Juventus pulled out of the running for Roma’s Edin Dzeko which put an end to the transfer for the Polish striker.

Milik will likely now take the interest from Tottenham seriously as he attempts to leave Napoli this summer.

The news of a new striker should be one that delights the Tottenham fan base, some of them have taken to Twitter to share how they feel about the striker signing for their fans.

Daily Hotspur tweeted about the news and some of the responses were:

“We’ve been waiting for the right moment to pounce”

“Great player for us and he would come earlier if we just pay that money and he is not even expensive”

“Prefer Jovic or Weghorst”

“The guy is more injury prone than Kane”

Basically a mixed response and the chances are that is what it will be like with the majority of the fans. Not until Milik shows what he can do in Tottenham top will he be backed overwhelmingly.

There have been too many false dawns when it comes to strikers.

We’re always going to have Soldado and Janssen in the back of our minds, strikers with so much promise and hype, but who couldn’t come up with the end product in North London. Hope Milik can break the cycle.

A deal for £17m plus £6m in add on’s has been discussed, and would likely be accepted by Napoli.

Same guy that passed N’Dombele as fit is going to do the job, so no worries.
