Tottenham face serious competition for the signature of Mauricio Pochettino

By Bruce Grove -

It seems that Mauricio Pochettino is a man in demand despite already being employed by one of the richest clubs in the world with a roster of superstar players at his disposal.

Tottenham remains the clear favourites to be the Argentine’s next destination, however, Real Madrid is now in the running and according to Radio Marca, he is their number one target.

The above tweet is in Spanish but roughly translated it says “The number one candidate to coach Real Madrid is Pochettino if he can leave PSG”

I know very little about Radio Marca, they do have a blue tick on Twitter for what that is worth and I am assuming they are somehow related to Marca but I could easily be wrong on that.

If what they are tweeting is true then under normal circumstances it would be easy to accept that he will end up in Madrid as opposed to north London but we are not in normal circumstances.

For starters, Real face a lengthy Champions League ban, they are no longer the team they once were with an ageing squad and virtually bankrupt.

But of course, they are Real Madrid and not many managers turn them down. That said, you cannot ignore what is surrounding them at the moment.

The bottom line, however, is that if Poch does end up leaving PSG, it is no longer certain that he would be N17 bound.

Going to be an interesting week.

Tottenham played some of the best football ever under Poch and I have watched them since before we won the double with Billy Nick. The idea is an old one, play good attractive football, that will always be in fashion with Spurs.
As for your view of Levy I’m pretty sure even he would agree with you, but having said that so what difference does that make ? I think you’ll find Man City folks are pretty cool with oil wells.

He is a property developer that is his forte not football.
The only people I hate more than the Enic gang are the happy clappers who hang on to their coat tails.
What is this trend for bringing things back to WHL – running out of ideas?

They do need a striker. Werner is not exactly prolific.

What if he could bring Lukaku with him. They seem quite tight.

Did you read the story 1. And did you see where this writer transition to “if” that were case then…..it is such silly and amateurish, but when you look at the responses these guys will continue to play on our emotions. This none story has been written so many ways. If you are still commenting on Wilf Zaha to Spurs for for 7th year, 2 transfer windows each. then these slickster with a blog got you. But am not trying to get ban again from the site.

How is this still a story? Everyone involved in a serious capacity denies any possibility of a deal for Poch, so that’s that for me.

Poch , if he comes back, will be changed as will Levy. It will be the biggest admission of getting it wrong and involve a lot of humble pie. As for Poch he will be clearer about what went wrong and what needs to happen.
I know some think Levy has no ambition, a view I don’t agree with, just that he is a business man and excess caution is his trait.

Some also think Poch is a failure, again a view I don’t agree with, he obviously has had as much success as Pep in attempting to win the Champions League. He and Spurs can get better I don’t think he should be written off as being incapable of improving, We all are capable of learning and improving.

Back working for Levy with zero money ambition or quality…..and No Kane , playing in the Euro conference….or…..Madrid or PSG in the Champions league.

If he comes back he will be immediately certified and incarcerated.

Let’s hope he remembers how it turned out last time & the lack of decisions he was able to make, player wise. Maybe in the future but not now.
