Tottenham enjoy massive financial advantage if they try to sign former player

By Bruce Grove -

Marcus Edwards is one ex-Tottenham player that has been linked with a return to the Lilywhites this summer.

Edwards left because he didn’t think he was making as much progress as he should and wanted a place where he will have access to regular first-team football.

He joined Portuguese side, Vitoria Guimaraes, and he has proven to be right about that choice.

The Englishman has been in fine form for the Portuguese side and he has now been linked with a move back to England with Spurs.

Spurs aren’t the only team looking to sign him and a report from Portugal’s O’Jogo via Sport Witness claims that Manchester United and Wolves are other teams who have been linked with a move for him.

It adds that the Red Devils are not making his signing a priority at the moment while Wolves are only being linked with a move for him because their fans would love to see him play for them.

However, Spurs still holds the advantage with his next transfer. The report also claimed that the Lilywhites hold a 50% sell-on fee should he join another team, and if Tottenham does make a move for him it means they get him with that discount built-in.

That is a huge advantage.
