Tottenham discussing transfer with French striker as they wait for new manger

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham is in advance talks to sign Marcus Thuram even though they haven’t named a manager yet, according to RMC Sports.

The Lilywhites remain managerless, but reports indicate they are closing in on naming a replacement for Jose Mourinho.

Nevertheless, Spurs don’t want to be left behind by other teams in the transfer market and Fabio Paratici is likely to help them get their first transfer business done soon.

Thuram has remained one of the impressive young strikers in Germany where he stars for Borussia Monchengladbach.

The German side played in the Champions League last season and reached the knockout stage even though they were in the same group as Real Madrid and Inter Milan.

He contributed 8 goals and 7 assists in 29 league games for the club.

He plays as a striker or on the left side of the attack and shows exceptional ability when he plays in both positions.

Spurs are facing an important summer with several uncertainties around them.

They could lose Harry Kane this summer, but the signing of Thuram isn’t as a replacement for the England captain.

They had Carlos Vinicius on loan from Benfica last season, but the Brazilian didn’t impress and Thuram will more likely be a replacement for him as a backup to Kane.

Any better than Bergwijn? Otherwise I’m losing the will to live with our transfer policy.

So many middle hitters.

Just watched Thuram’s best bits video. Looks like a poor version of Lucas. Runs till he loses the ball – we already have too many of them.

Chuckles to you on that. We think Son can be a consistent #9 just as much as Dele Alli can be a consistent #10. False on both. Dele is an attacking mid capable of scoring goals. Son is a winger from both sides and can be a devastating #10.

We do not need anyone up to Kane’s level. We need a manager who is will to cut back on Kanes minutes. What will happen if he goes to City and Pep stick Jesus next to him and pull him in the 75th. It will be a new world. What we need is a competent striker to play either with Harry or on their own. Use Son at the #10. In the modern game, we do not need outright wingers since the wingbacks play so high. Son played there in Germany and he is devasting running at defendder with kane in the pivot. Get that Sabitzer guy and put him next to PEH with Tanguy or take your pick of Gio or Alli. This would be a solid team capable of wrecking havoc. The backline will be protected and of course Andersen would not be a bad fit if we can get him.

Could Harry if levy refuses to sell buy himself out of his contract. I know very unlikely just wondering. City could then offer a large signing on fee and wages to make his money back. Just asking.

I don’t think he is a replacement for Kane, but he’d be a great addition and would be in the starting XI instantly. Thuram on the left, Son on the right, Tanguy in the middle and Kane on number 9 would be a great setup.
Bring in Aarons for RB and Sabitzer next to Pierre, and we would have a great team. Start Rodon and Tanganga every game as centre backs, and we will be in the Top4 irrespective of the new manager.

Why would Thuram,a French international, want to sut on the bench behind Kane?

Kane will be off this summer anyway,so it makes more sense that he is a replacement for Sonny, who will probably want to go.

Besides all this, what is the point of signing players when we don’t have a manager, who may not want them. This could make getting a new manager in even more difficult,as if it isn’t a complete joke already.

Paratici may be able to source some useful players, but he needs to work with the manager surely.Isn’t that the whole point of a DOF.This is more smoke and mirrors from Levy,he’s drowning.

His dad (France legend Lilian Thuram) named him after activist Marcus Garvey, who was an interesting character. As a replacement for Kane, he’s a different type of player, it seems, and not up to Kane’s level.

Typical levy tactics here. He will line up sorry his new muppets will line up all sorts of new players for the club. Some a few will be signed and other players will leave spurs to balance the books. A statement will be released by the club about new venture a new exciting 5 Yr plan. Fools bloody fools will buy into it. Levy will sit back laughing and congratulating himself on another great con job achievement.

This looks a decent signing if for Vinicius but only a fraction of what we need to do to replace Kane
