Tottenham, Chelsea transfer target believes he will remain at RB Leipzig this summer

By Eddie Razo -

Finding that third member for the backline of three to go with Cristian Romero and Eric Dier will be at the top of Tottenham Hotspur’s to-do list this summer. There are various players connected to the north London club, one of them being RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol.

The Croatia international is not only linked to Spurs but Chelsea is also connected to the 20-year-old. When asked about his future, Gvardiol told German publication Bild (via Football.London) that he expects to remain with the Bundesliga side.

“I really enjoy every day with this great team at this first-class club,” Gvardiol said. “I don’t think about anything else. And if you ask me if I’ll play here next year: Yes, of course.”

Gvardiol has a contract with RB Leipzig that runs until 2026, so the German club is in a position where they can discard any interest from any club unless they meet their asking price for the young defender.

When it comes to a possible price, Transfermarkt puts the Croatian’s value at £27-million, but perhaps since the RB Leipzig man has term on his contract, it might take more than that sum to get him out of Germany.

According to a publication out of Croatia Index.hr, a proposal in the area of £67-million may be enough to ensure a deal.
