Tottenham begins plans to bring Bundesliga star to the Premier League

By Bruce Grove -

Spurs have started working on bringing Marcel Sabitzer to the Premier League in the summer.

The Lilywhites expect to revamp their team when the transfer window reopens and the Austrian is one of their targets.

The midfielder has rejected a new contract offer from RB Leipzig and he will enter the final year of his current deal at the end of this season.

Spurs know there will be serious competition for his signature when the transfer window reopens and have now started working on landing him, according to Football Insider.

The report says the midfielder is personally being requested by Jose Mourinho, who has paid attention to his development.

Spurs want the former Chelsea boss to help them end their wait to win trophies and they are prepared to back him in the transfer market.

He personally requested to have Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the summer and got the Dane.

The former Southampton man has been a key part of the Tottenham squad in this campaign and gives credit to the Special One’s good judgement in player recruitment.

The report adds that the fact that the club is working to bring a Mourinho target to north London means that they might keep him on as their manager next season.

The boat has sailed on Grealish due to the masterstroke our benevolent clown in chief pulled before Villa got new owners, trying to buy him on the cheap as is his want.

Why do you say that Dawson isn’t quality? In the WH games I’ve seen he looks a hell of a lot more solid that Dier and Sanchez. It’s about pieces fitting not are they the best. That is what WH are doing very well this season, getting good players into the right places and scheme. We have no identity as a team as we seem to be fixated on buying based on reputation rather than need.

We have to Plan to start making Plans.

I am not convinced Mourinho has got the best out of the whole squad by his treatment of them, he has his blue eyed boys, but the rest he believes in his arrogant mind, is having to tolerate them which he is unable to do so.
There lies the problem, and that will continue into next season should Mourinho stay, as not all of those he wants out will be replaced, so the same split opinions, the same unhealthy atmosphere, the same low confidence shall remain, can’t wait !

Moyles signing Dawson for the hammers with beads, they are 4th, he is not quality but the manager has got him doing a job, Dier and Sanchez are rated a lot higher in quality yet they are disastrous, so why ?

We definitely need one centre back.. And a centre mid needed too. Players who will actually upgrade us. I can’t see the likes of Tanguy Gio and Dele winning us titles. Games are often won and lost in that centre midfield for me. Getting Pierre was one step. Our next is a quality playmaker needed. Grealish would be the perfect signing there. Get rid of two or three. He’s three times the player than our centre mids.

Oh, I wasnt saying thats who we should appoint, but rather he will suit Levy’s profile for the club.. i.e. has managed big clubs, won trophies before & together with the impact of covid on the finances Benitez is in some ways a perfect fit.

I think Vinicius needs more games, but when hes in the team why arent we putting a few crosses in the box, the other day everything was to feet & he got crowded out…, when Reguillon delivered 2 crosses of real quality Vini was off & Son was on. Vinny needs to work harder off the ball, but its not asking much for us to get the ball wide & cross it. I disagreed with Son coming on with 45 mins left as I dont think he had 45 mins of PL footy in his legs, which showed in his performance as he was largely anonymous. Scarlett I agree should be given minutes sooner rather than later.. I personally would rather he was given .minutes than Bale…at least young players play with heart, compassion & energy . Qualities largely missing in recent performances.

You can add Bergy to the list!

IMO whilst he has fallen from grace surely Alli would have contributed more than Vini against Newcastle and this applies to Scarlett as well?

In fairness How is Alli not on that list? Alli, Doherty & Winks should be the first 3 out the door .. if rumours are true, and PSG offered 30-35 million for him, Levy should have personally driven him to the airport .😏

If Mourinho is fired then no doubt there will be plenty of takers for this poisoned chalice Spurs job but Benitez not for me!

Although I understand the sentiment getting rid of that many players in less than 3 windows would be suicidal…

Benitez is available & will cost nothing in compensation… Im sure Levy has already had words… realistically I dont see us finishing higher than 7th. Im not sure thats enough to prevent Levy from pulling the trigger……I’ll be surprised if Mourinho is there at start of next season..

Not only does the conductor glide through a match with purpose but unlike Eriksen often dangling a leg to nil effect Modders can also make a proper tackle!!

Agreed – but surely Maureens network can attract a serious upgrade on what we have ! even a CB like Anderson (Fulham) , he can defend , organise ( which I think we are really missing) and pass to a white shirt ( he has had coaching on this already) ,

Mourinho will be staying next season. Levy does not want to stump up a severance payment and he does not want to be seen as making the wrong decision by bringing him here. Mourinho will also not want to leave in yet another dark cloud. However, unless he is backed with quality incomings it will all be to no avail. The big question is will this be funded by selling off a major asset like Kane or Son or by getting rid of 6/7 deadbeats and that includes his love child Dier.As Son has yet to sign a new deal the chances are it may be him. But will Kane see that as yet another lack of ambition losing his key attacking partner and will that push him towards the door. That all could also play out in reverse if Kane was to leave. The big clear out should be Docherty, Sanchez, Dier, Davies, Sissoko, Vinicius, Winks, and Aurier. How much will that bring in realistically? We need in a CB, RB DM, CM, AM CF. I guess Skipp could do the DM. Sessignon hopefully covers for Requilion at LB. Maybe give Cirkin a run at RB cover and give Alfie boy and Captain Scarlett a run out.

3 specific 35 million pound plus player purchases this summer would be better than the usual scatter gun approach, with Skipp and Ryan coming back would be a successful transfer window and then get rid of 6 or 7 players. Youth can supplement the squad

Very wise decision let Mourinho at least finish his contract there is no point to panic before that, the club needs stability to progress for god sake Pochettino who never win anything stayed with us 5 seasons to keep Mourinho 2.5 seasons to see out his contract is that too much to ask? What on earth is going on?
