Spurs Did Scout €13M Rated Star But Didn’t Place A Bid

By The Boy -

There’s a detailed report on Foot Mercato about one Christopher Nkunku and Tottenham are listed as one of several sides that viewed, and declined to make a purchase. Having been at this game for 16 years and change, this reads to me like the agent relisting the vehicle after the initial round of tyre kicking didn’t go as planned.

In particular, there are revealing notes such as the extract above which screams of absolute desperation. Mr. Ole may as well have complimented the caterers for the finger food on his visit to watch the kid.

I take a view that Spurs simply must stop this pursuit to buy cheap, sell high from lower league starlets. It really is a business model one might hatch after opening that second bottle of wine over lunch.

Is this Nkunku kid any good? I’d suggest that €13million he’s priced to sell and aged 23, it is unlikely that there is a ‘more to come’ element to be explored. The world probably has a relatively decent grasp of what this player can and cannot do.

More assists than Sabitzer but same number of goals. Seems like a steal for €13 million.
