Tottenham Hotspur have an option to sign Johnny Cardoso for a fee of around €25 million at the end of the season.

The 23-year-old defensive midfielder has established himself as a key player for Real Betis, and he could prove to be an excellent acquisition for Tottenham. They need more depth and quality in the middle of the park, and Yves Bissouma has been underwhelming this season. He has been linked with the move away from the club, and Cardoso could be a quality alternative.

The United States International could be excited about the possibility of playing in the Premier League, and it would be an exciting challenge for him at this stage of his career. He has shown his ability in Spanish football, and he will look to test himself in England now.

According to a report from AS, Real Betis would welcome the midfielder’s move to Tottenham. They have already started planning for the future.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs submit an offer to get the deal done. They secured a first refusal option on the midfielder when they sold Giovani Lo Celso to Real Betis.

The clause would allow them to sign the player for a very reasonable price. Cardoso has been linked with other clubs as well, but Tottenham clearly have a major advantage in the race to sign him. They should look to make the most of the opportunity and wrap up the move quickly.

Tottenham have had a disappointing season, and they will look to bounce back strongly next year. They need quality signs in order to do well, and improving the midfield should be one of their priorities.

The United States International has done well in La Liga, and he has the physicality and technical attributes to shine in the Premier League as well.
