Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Real Betis midfielder, Johnny Cardoso.
The 23-year-old American midfielder is on the radar of the North London club, and they have the option to sign for a fee of around €25 million. Tottenham secured the €25 million option to sign the defensive midfielder when they sold Giovani Lo Celso to the Spanish club.
Multiple clubs have been linked with the move for the United States International, but Tottenham clearly have an advantage, and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done.
The 23-year-old has established himself as a reliable performer in Spanish football, and he has the ability to succeed in England as well. He could be a key player for Tottenham next season.

Yves Bissouma has been linked with an exit on the back of his underwhelming performances this season and the United States International could be the ideal replacement.
The fact that the player has now revealed that the links with Tottenham make him feel valued and give him confidence will certainly excite the fans of the London club.
Cardoso said via SportWitness: “I can’t lie, and it’s true that it’s something that gives me confidence, that makes me feel valued because I’m doing a good job.
“But I always try to improve and do my best for the benefit of the group and grow as a person on and off the field. However, right now my focus is only on Betis. This season we have important things to think about.”
They will certainly hope that Tottenham come forward with an official offer to sign the midfielder in the coming months. He will add defensive steel and physicality to the midfield. The 23-year-old will protect the back four and allow the creative players to operate with more freedom.
The La Liga midfielder is still quite young, and he will only improve with coaching and experience. He could develop into a future star for Tottenham.
