Tottenham Hotspur attacker Son Heung-min has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

His contract will expire in the summer of 2025 and the two parties have not been able to agree on an extension yet. According to Give Me Sport, Manchester United are now plotting a surprise move for the South Korean international.

They believe he could be a useful short-term acquisition for the club. There is no doubt that Son is one of the best attackers in the Premier League, and he could improve Manchester United going forward. He is capable of slotting anywhere across the front three, and he will add goals and creativity to the side. The 32-year-old has four goals and forces to his name in all competitions this season.

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United can secure his signature on a free transfer. It would be a bargain acquisition for them. They have previously signed players like Zlatan Ibrahimović in their 30s and the Swedish international was quite impressive for them. They will hope that the South Korean can impress at Old Trafford as well.

It remains to be seen how the situation unfolds. Ideally, Spurs should look to secure a contract agreement with the player and keep him at the club for the upcoming seasons. Despite being 32, he remains a top-class player who could be instrumental to Tottenham’s success in the near future.

He has been labelled as a “world-class” player by Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou and his move to their top-four rivals will certainly come as a blow for the North London club. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.

The fans will certainly hope that Tottenham can tie him down to a new contract over the next few weeks.
