Juventus ace Paolo Dybala has opened up on his reported links with Tottenham last summer and he did confirm that the Lilywhites were among the teams who wanted to sign him.
Dybala has been an important player for Juve since he joined the Italian champions, however, reports began to emerge last summer that he was leaving the Serie A outfit and he could end up at Tottenham.
The move never materialised and he eventually won over Maurizio Sarri, however, he has revealed that Tottenham had spoken to Juventus about the possibility of landing him.
He claimed that the teams didn’t speak to him directly, but they did with Juventus over a potential transfer, before insisting that he wasn’t thinking of leaving at that time because he didn’t think it made sense for him to leave the Old Ladies when he was on a bad run of form like he was at the time.
“It was more or less last year at this point when Juventus didn’t want to count on me, didn’t want me to continue playing here,” the Argentine told CNN.
“That’s when I was contacted and there were some clubs that were interested in me. Among those were Manchester United and Tottenham. I think for a long time there were conversations, then Paris Saint-Germain also appeared.
“I did not speak directly to any of them, but there were conversations with the clubs. However, my intention at the time was to stay.
“I hadn’t had a good year or a positive last six months, so I didn’t want to leave with that image because I think I had given the club a lot of nice moments and it wasn’t fair that I went like this.
“So I also communicated that my intention was to stay, work to grow and give my best here. Obviously it was not easy because Juventus’ intentions were different, but after the market closed, there was no more time and with the arrival of Sarri I grew a lot.”

The bald little fuckwit just went through the motions with Dybala, he knew full well that Man U had failed the week before because of the player’s image rights and he had no intention of going through with it on deadline day. It was all just PR for the benefit of the gullible fans, the Levy supporting ones having the IQ of a tadpole.
