The inability to manage change well is something that has dogged Spurs under ENIC’s reign. Sure, Daniel Levy can over budget, over-schedule super stadium, but gearing up replacement players routinely produce turmoil. The departures of Moussa Dembele, Jan Vertonghen, and Christian Eriksen were never waiting in the wings, even when some of those players were clearly on their last legs for a season or more.
Toby Alderweireld was 32 earlier this month. While fans were busy whooping it up for Pochettino and Redknapp recently, the fact that one of our senior players’ career is approaching its final furlong a few days ago passed by most.
Liverpool and Tottenham are supposedly interested in Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa. Looking at the boy’s heat map gives one a sense of his play, the video above confirms that the 23-year-old is a busy bee.
His stats are also rock-solid with a current mean average successful passing accuracy of 90.4% according to Wyscout (€).
I take a view that is shocking for a club the supposed size of Spurs that some fans are wondering why a 32-year-old isn’t starting every game, instead of demanding to know when Toby is going to be upgraded to a 23-year-old.
What could possibly be preventing Spurs from going all out for this player?
If you want to replace a CB then replace Dier.
Interesting to see a master class in CB defending from the 38 yr old Pepe for Porto last night. He played 2 hours in a team that were down to 10 men for over an hour, yet had Ronaldo in his pocket, making outstanding tackles and blocks. So 32 yr old Toby might be good for a while?
What has happened to Joe Rodon? Unseen for a while.
If only The Moussa Dembele had stayed and not the fake Moussa
lol couldn’t make it up
Moussa Dembele….the bouncer is still with us.
