I asked Jose why he didn’t bring Bale on. He said ‘good question but you don’t deserve an answer’ 😱 pic.twitter.com/Z5ULM94fMu

Questions for Premier League managers must be well constructed, in so much that they actually serve a purpose for both the club and the supporters; which also means at times that they need to a little over respectful on occasion, in order to maintain the balance of decorum. Otherwise, one might as well let random fans in to shout any old thing out, which would most likely prompt the police being called.
There’s a reason Mourinho gave Ms Bender short-shrift, and it has nothing to do with him being a monster or her being a woman.
Gareth Bale’s return to N17 being a Levy decision has to be this season’s worst kept secret in football. Mourinho had already given us his polite take on Bale, that nobody is the same player that they were 7-years ago. There is no way on god’s green earth José would’ve chosen to loan a 31-year-old Bale, or spend the wrong end of a million pound a month in the process.
Why didn’t Mourinho bring on Bale? Maybe Mourinho watched the Welshman’s performance against Brighton, which was a desperate performance.
Contest is our friend, and we don’t have to look far to see Ms Bender has form for being baffled by the responses she provokes. In her own blog, she recounts the time she asked a Chelsea player what hair gel do you use? For which she received responses that she felt were examples of sexism still being rife in the game.
He’s the video. ‘Can I ask one tiny question?’ She absolutely knows what she’s going to provoke. Or if she didn’t, then she urgently needs to get some guidance from someone who might help improve her game.

Levy and Lewis would never sell at a loss.. These are ruthless billionaire businessmen. Worst case scenario is they bankrupt the club and cut and run. We end up doing the Leeds and never returning…. Or they leech out of the club for decades to come? I have no idea what their plans are now but over a billion pounds debt, the pandemic, the nfl bowel is not exactly attractive to any buyer.
Sheffield Utd play 3 at the back, but we were very good against them, note that Sheffield beat Utd 1-0
Polite enough, yes. Just a tad disappointing
You can downvote Pab, but this is what really happened.. The truth matters….. Botch was only walking if he won the CL.. From the horses mouth! He said it.. Unless he was lying and you possess mindreading skills 😳
You didn’t see that game.
So, in your brain, there’s nothing to think about.
Please don’t post here again.
I hope that’s polite enough for you.
Didn’t see their game against Liverpool, but I would imagine comparing the 2 games is like comparing apples with pears. They were much the better side against us, with far more intent to win. I’m not saying you are wrong about the players, but Mourinho is clearly losing them
Brighton who beat Liverpool who recently won the league and the European cup?
Sorry; and ENIC, of course
I do Harry; and you blame the players. This is a valid call for sure, but what has made them turn from a team that mauls Man U on their own turf, to a team that can’t muster a noteworthy effort on goal in 75-minutes against Brighton?
Er… would you mind reading my blogs? Would you do that teensy courtesy?
Not the real point is it? Where do we go from here? Is Levy capable of understanding that managers need support. If his track record is anything to go by over 20 years, the answer is no. My reading of Mourinho is that he needs a great deal of money to create a squad which can win things. There is no point in having him as manager if he doesn’t get the support that his cv suggests he needs. Which players have individually improved significantly to be of the quality he needs? So Levy must sell, even at a loss or things will continue as they are.
You did. Dier and Moura and Aurier rejuvenated, Gedson and Vinicius from Portugal and Levy refuses to sell players that Jose doesn’t want. It can’t end well.
Im in full agreement with you about the squad Harry
Just starting to worry that Jose is making repeat mistakes and think he has been here ling enough now to be properly scrutinised
Id definitely stick with Jose but this negativity around the club wont go away and dont think the culture of Spurs would see us start winning our way out of it.
When we reached the top of the table would seem to support your comment.
A good question but luck and injuries can be underrated in a season.
Harry, do you think that what’s being delivered on the pitch at the moment is more than, equal to, or less than the sum of its parts? Genuine question. For me, we had a very good summer window; and after a poor first game, with a little better luck and/or game management (Newcastle / West Ham), we’d have been streets ahead at the top by Christmas. Something has changed and it’s not all down to injuries.
After reading that link marbella the thought of spending a bolt invoking enic and that real life oo7 character is impossible.
I can’t believe enic could have gotten any worse in my eyes but they blew it out the park with those revelations.
It’s like something out of that series billions but happens to involve my football team.
Wasn’t it him that chose the players we brought in this season ?
A man not a boy like poch to tell levy this is the new regime and how its getting done.
Sure a read that somewhere?
I’ve been mulling over last night’s performance, and the last few weeks and months at Spurs.
It’s easy to forget how bad the last few months of Pochettino’s reign in charge were: we were dreadful, we didn’t win an away game for a year. José came in and we managed to steady the ship post coronavirus and got into a Europa League spot.
The summer came and all of us were excited: Levy got his wallet out. The Welsh wizard came home. We signed a striker, a new exciting left back, right back and a promising CB. And we got Hojlberg.
Our first game against Everton was a disaster. We looked clueless. But then suddenly we went on a tear. We started to boss games. We destroyed Southampton, Kane and Son on fire.
Hojlberg became the rock of our midfield.
Vs Man Utd, we played expansive attacking football, smashing them even before the red card. 6-1 winners. Pundits started putting us in a title race. We were progressing through the cups…
Then West Ham happened.
Expansive attacking football first half: 3-0 up. Defensive collapse 2nd half: 3-3. Mourinho said afterwards we were defensively naive. And then he shut up shop.
We started to play defensively. The game against West Brom was awful, saved by a last minute winner. Against Man City: the result justified José’s approach. We sat 11 men behind the ball, got 2 counter attacking goals.
Against Arsenal the same. They battered us but we got the win. The end justifying the means for José. We were winning ugly, into a cup final, 8 games unbeaten over Christmas…. But the football was no fun to watch….
And now here we are. We have been sitting deeper and deeper in games. Kane gets injured. Suddenly, no focal point in the team, Son looking lost. Hojlberg sat 4 feet in front of his CB’s, passing sideways or backwards. Players nervous, making errors, not running for each other.
Make no mistake: this is a crisis. This kind of form can destroy seasons. The only person who can turn this around is José. This is on him. Levy would have to pay £40 million in compensation to sack him. The squad is what it is now. Man for man: a better squad than Leciester, yet I don’t hear them complaining about it?
When we hired José my mate, a Utd fan, texted me saying: José will suck the life out of your team. I dismissed it, looking at his trophy haul…. I’m starting to think he might have been right. I’m praying he’s not.
COYS
This i agree with 100%. Against Southampton away, then City, Arse at home etc, it was like a surprise what we were doing, and now we have been found out. I think Jose’s main tactic is ‘Not to lose’, and we are now going a goal down in games and the pattern has been set, and it looks like we cannot change it. All of us are disappointed at the outcome of the last several games, given we were top of the league in December, but I also think that Jose needs to find a tactical solution. So, maybe i will get shot down in flames for this, but I think Harry Winks should have been playing last night. We retain the ball in midfield and it gives others the chance to play when he is in the middle. I know about the sidewards and backwards passes thing, but we do retain possession when he plays, and he is always making space for himself to receive a pass, which is something that we were not doing last night. How many times did Davies get the ball and stick his arms in the air because nobody showed for him?
Who was the LEGEND who rang talkshat last night and went ballistic on Levy?? Truth was told. Haha he said he hates Levy more than Arsenal.
As alot of us said, the manager matters not, no I personally didn’t want Jose and when he came i didn’t think it would be a success, but that would go for anyone. Levy got him in for the amazon doc ratings and a very distant 2nd was that by some miracle he may nick a trophy out of this patchwork squad to keep the dogs off. After the 1st half of the season, the VAR decisions, Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea and City chucking results and then the 6-1 it seemed summin was up……obviously not. I was way off there.
Back to reality and its as we were. Levy/ENICs grand future…..of nothing.
Harry, in relation to last article reply, yeah, disquss or whatever it is. I was banned on Twitter for the third time, banned on YouTube for calling cu.nts cu.unts. Then the disquss thing wouldn’t play ball, then they cancel cultured Parler.
Then Spurs started playing like Spurs.
Been locking down a dirty girl in Bristol for past few months. Every divorce has a sliver lining.
I think we’ve been tactically found out. Look at the last 3 league matches, excluding Liverpool. Chelsea, played 3 at the back; Brighton, played 3 at the back; Fulham, same. This allows teams to be progressive in their forward play, whilst offering better protection against our counter. We are therefore reliant on our forwards being more clinical, as the chances become harder to take. I exclude Liverpool in this because, well, they are Liverpool. Point is, Mourinho needs to find a solution to this, as his plan A just ain’t cutting it. The issue of squad quality, or depth, can be argued of course, but I can’t accept that all of the teams doing better than us at the moment have better squads. That just ain’t so! Mourinho is being out coached and outthought at the moment; and he needs to fix it, before he loses that dressing room for good.
No Botch said he was going to walk out on us if he won the CL.. Then after losing and managing us to 14th he then REFUSED to walk!
Leeds and Arsenal marginally behind…Again…better or equal squad??
I’m curious as to why people are not picking up the fact that you can slag bale alli poch all you like. The relevant part of all this is none of them are gonna be there nxt year, one ain’t been there for 18 months yet it all still his fault, and the clowns that were on display the last week are all thats gonna be left. Dismal football, dismal squad with some genuine world class talent sprinkled among it, yet not allowed to show their true talent because the serial winner is also a serial dressing room problem. But we got pints that flow up from the bottom so all good. This is a horrific mess and you can delude yourselves all you like if you think hes the answer, he’s picked the teams and tactics nobody else and he gets handsomely paid to do so, so therefore he takes the blame as well
City, United, Leicester, Liverpool, WEst Ham, chelsea, soon to be Villa…are you telling me all those teams have better squads than us? Will accept City and Liverpool – but at the start of the season, most of us would not have swapped our squad for any of the otehrs.
So you are trying to say we have the worst squad in the league? or the there are 8 better than ours? Funny, Poch at his worst seem to do better with a worse bunch…Jose needs some blame.
The problem is and always has been Levy who only knows the price of everything and the cost of nothing. The squad was already showing signs of decline prior to us reaching the CL final and Poch knew that. Hence his words to the board “to be brave” which were ignored to such an extent that we didn’t buy a player during two transfer windows which is unheard of in the modern game. Levy was economic with the truth when he said that building the new stadium would not affect our transfer spending, and then proceeded to take money from season ticket holders in the knowledge that the new stadium was not going to be ready. When I sometimes ask myself whether I am being unfair to Levy’s track record, I comfort myself with the fact that he furloughed 550 Spurs staff, and then I reassure myself that he is even worse than I thought. Mind you, he does work for the President of Patagonia who is a monster.
Honestly….yes! the few weeks of the season he got sacked, they were poor, but right now, I feel there is no road to turning this around. These players simply look like they been told this season doesnt count – I wonder if Jose has told them to focus on cups?
* get a tune
Jose is a manager not a miracle worker. The squad isn’t good enough. Poch wanted to walk after the Champions League final fiasco because he could see the squad wasn’t up to the challenge and the rebuild needed was unlikely. If a manager like Mourinho who has won everything everywhere can’t get a time out of this bunch then it’s time to stop blaming the managers and time to turn the spotlight on the players and those that buy them.
What’s not adding up is the blind eye being turned to the squad.
But hey ho. I think I’ll stop repeating myself.
Few are interested in common sense.
Like when I was dishing out daily truths about Levy.
I can’t remember them all being so bad at the same time ever
Was the last season under Pochettino better than this?
The uncomfortable cognitive dissonance is starting.
Jose winner, serial winner. Spurs getting worse and worse.
Worse record in our last 12 games than Pochs last 12.
Same mistakes game after game. Coaching problem, no?
No shape or patterns of play.
Worringly bad, depressingly awful to watch for 3 games in a row since Kane got injured.
A bad vibe is being created around Spurs in the media, true or not this is a negative spiral that not many get out of.
But Jose is a winner, serial winner.
Its not adding up.
She should really ask “what are you coaching” as for as bad as this squad is, I can’t remember them all being so bad at the same time ever.
I hate these affairs with the press.
Manu 9-0 Stains after the match
“Well Ole how do you feel after that?”
“Well Ralph are you going to get sacked in the morning”
If questions must be asked the silly woman should have said “Disappointing run of games Jose are you going to beat West Brom?”
If it elicits a smart answer like “I dont have a crystal ball” then that tells us he is not confident.
Use you brain woman.
