Tottenham’s match-winner against Southampton, Son Heung-min said he isn’t just looking forward to playing against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final, he wants to win the competition.
The South Korean has been in fine form in this campaign and has supported the team’s effort with the goals they need.
He and Harry Kane have formed a deadly attacking force that has helped the club to mount a top-four challenge and to reach this final.
His penalty last night helped Spurs to overcome a poor start after going behind to beat Southampton 2-1.
After the game, he was interviewed by the media and was asked about the City match this weekend.
He said that he wanted to win the trophy and not just play in the final.
Spurs’ fans liked that response and they commented on the post made by the club.
Some praised his mentality and others asked him and his teammates to bring the trophy home. Here is some of the responses:
“Don’t just want to play in the final, I want to be the winner” this is the mentality we need

Son saying he’s not proud of getting into a final, only if he wins it is what I love to hear

Did we expect anything else from him? He has that hunger to win, not something you see in some of the players at the moment.
