Pablo Zabaleta has added his voice to the Harry Kane transfer saga and the former Premier League defender says now is the best time for the England captain to leave Tottenham.
Kane has told Spurs that he wants to leave and Manchester City has been on the lookout for his signature.
The Premier League champions are known admirers of the striker and they have been pursuing his signature this summer.
Kane also wants to join them, but Tottenham will not make things easy for the striker or Pep Guardiola’s side.
Zabaleta, who won several trophies at City and was one of the players who turned them into English giants, admits it would be nice to see Kane in the colours of the Citizens.
City is pursuing the signature of Kane partly because they think he is the ideal replacement for Sergio Aguero who left them at the end of last season.
Zabaleta said as quoted in the Mail: ‘We’ll see if the money is there and will splash the money for Harry Kane but will be nice to see him playing for City.
‘He’s in the right moment for him to go to a different club and have different experience, when you look at all the top teams they are looking for players who can score 25 goals a season, you always need players like that.
‘Obviously Sergio (Aguero) left the club and they only have Gabriel Jesus as a proper striker but we all know the quality of Kane if you want to win trophies and (he) knows he’s done enough for Spurs and wants to move, maybe City are one of those clubs.’
