According to the ever-reliable Alasdair Gold, Tottenham Hotspur could make a late move for Illya Zabarnyi.
During a recent YouTube video, Gold provided a fresh update on Tottenham’s transfer plans ahead of the final few weeks of the window.
He said: “I think the key with Spurs, it’s about the opportunities.
“I’ve said before Ilya Zabarnyi, the young Ukrainian centre-back is a player that they really like, and he’s someone they’ll go back to if the window of opportunity is there for him.”
This would be an intriguing move from the north London club, similar to the recent signings of Pape Matar Sarr, Bryan Gil, and Destiny Udogie.

Gold also believes that if Japhet Tanganga follows Joe Rodon out the door at Hotspur Way, Spurs will reconsider the central defensive position and the Ukrainian could become a genuine target.
Zabarnyi, who is only 19 years old, is probably not ready for the big leagues just yet, despite having 22 caps for Ukraine and 19 appearances in the Champions League. And so, if the transfer does happen, it is likely that he’ll be loaned back for a year just like we saw in the case of Sarr and Gil.
Standing at 6 feet 2 inches tall, the Ukraine sensation has been compared to Kalidou Koulibaly by local scout Alex Velikikh, while attempting to emulate his hero, Liverpool colossus Virgil van Dijk.
