Ivan Rakitic has hailed Harry Kane as perhaps the best striker in the world at the moment.
The Sevilla midfielder was speaking about the England national team whom his country, Croatia, will face in the Euros later this year.
Kane has proven to be one of the best strikers in the world, even though he hasn’t had luck in winning trophies to back that up.
He has been scoring goals for fun for Tottenham since he broke into their first team, and he won the Golden Boot at the World Cup in 2018.
Several players and fans all over the world believe that he is the best on the planet, and Rakitic seems to have joined that group.
The Croatian said England is one of the favourites to lift the Euros later this year and added that it will be tough for his country to face them.
He then admitted that it was hard to pick the best player in the Three Lions squad, but Kane is arguably the best striker in the world right now.
“I think of course England will be a big favourite not only for the group stages but to win the entire tournament, and I think it will be very hard to play against them,” the Sevilla midfielder said at an event for Livescore, via FourFourTwo.
“However, with the mix between young and older players, Croatia will be once again really strong.
“Both Croatia and England will be ready, especially because we’ve had to wait one more year due to the European Championship being delayed.
“It’s hard to pick out one player because England is a very strong team. They have maybe the best striker in the world at the moment in Harry Kane.
“I think their team is extremely well-prepared to achieve a lot of special things, not only in the European Championship but also at the World Cup in Qatar.
“They have more successful years ahead of them so it will be really hard to play against them.”

Seriously England do have a lot of good talent available,it’s just a question of appointing the right manager to get the best out of them.
Classic mind games move. Build up your opponents to be world beaters. He’s got a point though. Is there another striker then Kane with similar goals/assists ratio right now? Lewa at Bayern perhaps? Kane is so important in defence as well. And Rakitic saw a couple of descent players during his years at Barcelona, so I guess he knows what he’s talking about..
