Tottenham fans have reacted very well to a report that the club is an admirer of Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.
Journalist @JordanM_Choco tweeted that Spurs are one of three clubs who “like the profile” of the 26-year-old ahead of the summer window.

Of course, the potential recruitment of a top-class holding midfielder to complement Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso is an exciting prospect, but that is not the main cause of satisfaction here.
What most Spurs fans are revelling in is the opportunity to gazump Arsenal, whose own supporters have been intent on signing Partey since a report from Corriere Dello Sport claimed he was “one step away” from joining.

I don’t for single second think that we are in the running for the Ghanaian international but is nice to ruffle Arsenal fans’ feathers, however briefly.

As The Sun details, Partey’s agent today deleted an Instagram poll asking followers to vote for his next club. Arsenal were one of the five options listed, along with Manchester United, Bayern Munich, PSG and Juventus.
