These Reactions Suggest Spurs Fans Have A Better Grasp Of Mourinho-ball Than United’s Lot Ever Did

By The Boy -

Sun Tzu quotes must be used in moderation, I once tried to read an entire book of these things and after a few pages the shock and awe had deteriorated into a word soup where none of the metaphors, none of the probable sage advice made any sense whatsoever. That said, ‘If you wait by the river long enough, the bodies of your enemies will float by’ is an apt enough thought about the way Spurs fans have evolved over the past few seasons.

The sacking of Pochettino has helped mill the wheat from the gormless chaff, and we now have distinct voices championing common sense, in everyday social media posts. As discussed earlier, Martin Keown’s views on José Mourinho’s post match reactions smack of the parochial views that have kept Tottenham in its place – as perennial losers. Losing is simply not acceptable. Apologists for losing need to be weeded out.

I still buy in not because it is too early to be wanting another in but because I like the mentality he is trying to bring.
Were we (fans) too dismissive of RA as only Belgian they looked one hell of a unit I remember us passing one to another around the box late on and I counted 7 red shirts in the box very hard to break down the way would have been for a FB to sprint down the wing and put a cross into the box.

I thought the team selection was poor when i saw it. Too many changes.

The regeneration of the squad isn’t done by a long chalk. There are still 3 or 4 positions in the 1st team which simply aren’t good enough. The Utd hammering got some ahead of themselves but as Tappa stated next season we can really judge. Whether Son and Kane stick around that long is another matter.

You can’t keep ‘culling the herd’ every time we don’t play very well and lose a game. Even the best players have played badly in defeats.

We weren’t gonna win the league when we beat United 6-1 and we’re not a terrible team after last night. I don’t want to apologise for losing but it happens. Even the greatest teams to ever play the game lost occasionally – and we’re not among the greatest teams to play the game. And football is a team game. Some of those players that look ‘not good enough’ will look just fine in a different combination. In hindsight the personnel choice was wrong but Mourinho sees them everyday and obviously thought he’d get a tune out of them. he didn’t…so back to the drawing board. So, yeah, I probably blame both parties a little. Mourinho for a selection that had no real leadership and no one that has been on above average form recently – he maybe underestimated the opposition. But then you have to blame the players for not taking their chance. Whatever, each defeat is a learning experience and this season and this team is still early days.

Who played alongside Winks in midfield I didn’t see the whole game.? Going by the team sheet was it LoCelso playing 4231,Bergwijn and Bale as wingers.

It’s sad because I love his passion for the club but the statement is correct, he needs to be moved on to a lesser club .

He said: “I’m not sure what he (Winks) gives Spurs. I think he’s too square with his passing. He goes backwards. He keeps the ball, but there’s no penetration with his passing and he was one of the major problems with Spurs’ performance today.”
(Stewart Robson)

We have been saying this for years, neat and tidy he is. Penetrative he ain’t.

I thought the team selection was good when it was released, I’d love to hear how the Mourinho haters would have differed in selection?? The player played terrible and 100 percent should be held accountable , good on Mourinho. Let’s cull the herd of the weak minded serial losers in the squad, we want beasts in there
