There’s Worrying Trend In Tottenham’s Transfer Rumours Which Nobody Appears To Be Bothered By…

By The Boy -

Obviously, the transfer window has a way to run yet, but the glaring problem facing Fabio Paratici is shifting the deadwood, the players that have run surely run their course in North London. The debts that have enveloped THFC in recent years have effectively meant that Spurs need to sell in order to buy,

Yet despite this the volume of tales citing Tottenham as ‘interested’, ‘joining the race’, or worse yet, ‘monitoring’ various players across the globe, we have been little to no indication that any of the surplus players are anywhere close to leaving the building.

link

Rumours such as the one above are popping up on a pretty much hourly basis, yet interest in Harry Winks et al. appears to be the same as ever, just about negligible.

Perhaps Harry Kane to Manchester City is a done deal after all, and Levy and Paratici are working out just how many middle-of-the-road players they can draft in with all that lovely cash?

Alas, no matter how much we threaten it, ENIC know we’ll still go to the shopping stadium, we’ll still buy the cheap rediculously-priced clobber, we’ll still want the trinkets, we’ll still stand at the longest bar in the known universe. We can’t help ourselves. They know it well.

I expect our Chairman, the one who was supposed to be stepping back from football decisions, had a word in Nuno’s ears along the lines of “there a good chap try and re-integrate Winks will you because we can’t afford to replace him, there’s a pandemic you know”.

Just the same old same old. Our commander won’t accept offers for what these guys are actually worth, nobody goes anywhere, no money comes in, and around and around we go till we all get dizzy and throw up.

Maybe, let me take a flyer on this. I like Winks for the kind of system he came up with under Poch especially with Dembele wearing down. Winks could go get the ball and operate in a box. The problem is he stays in that box, dinking and dunking. He never develop a range in his tool kit. Once the mids and forwards start to separate and needs linking Winks lack the abililty to hit a man on the move. Was he good for Poch, absolutely playing out the back that requires quick snappy passes not necessarily going anywhere in particular. Dembele from what I saw never had that seeing eye pass, but he could carry it on the laces, receiving the ball in a phone booth and wiggles his way out. So, a system, believe it or not can and will help some players with what they got, maybe Nuno is going to play that possession football and please don’t ask PEH to go get the rock, that would be Tanguy and Celso jobs
Winks off the bench and cup ties might worth it because he is home grown.

I have just read an article in Eurosport that Nuno has decided to give Winks another chance and that he won’t be sold this window. Villa were linked to him. That doesn’t strike me as a good start to clearing the deadwood. It smells to me that potential buyers have been put off by Levy’s probably unrealistic valuation.

How do you arrived at that assessment on the buying side of the ledger with the new guy? Just asking. The problem he inherited with moving the deadwoods along is tantamount to his and the club having liquidity to bring players in. I am more concerned about the lack of interests for any of those players not including Kane. Winks rated $25M, Sanchez $35M maybe, Moura, Lamela, Aurier all can fetch you $35M -$40m again maybe. Sissoko, we should give him door to door and tip the driver handsomely. Dier maybe $30M. Those are all market evaluations, but when you combine market value to their uselessness. We cannot move any of them. So, if kane is not sold, where is the money coming from to finance the incomings. This is the reality facing us now!!!

Speaking of Winks, well according to an article I just read from a publication that shall remain nameless. “Winks enjoyed a disappointing season and find himself down the pecking order”. He was damn aweful, but I cannot see him enjoying it. I thought I was bad at proof reading.

For anyone who thinks Lewis is whiter than white just do some research on the internet and read about his business manoeuvres in Patagonia. Then decide whether you are proud of our owners. He’s despicable.

Like a fat man doing a canonball in a public pool the Charlie says vid was an uncomfortable truth blast HH. Up the garden path indeed….out the gate….into the back of a transit van and off into the woods.
The custodians they were supposed to be became something else when they tore down the club and rebuilt something in their own image.
Smash and grab with A plus PR and spin. Wretched.

If strangers offer you candy you say NO. Adults forgot this premise that even children understand.

Players like Aouar are pie in the sky. That kid actually has a reputation, no way on earth he would come to a club outside CL with little chance of getting back in. That’s before the money which Levy won’t pay. This window will be the final nail in the stadium myth coffin. It’ll drag on till August like this. Tomiyasu isn’t even complete. Orient are down the road, I know it’s hard but it might be time to admit the worst. Our club has been the victim of a hatchet job murder.

The elephant in the room is our bald parasite, he has alienated himself with fans, clubs, agents and our own players too.

His greed has made our great club a poison chalice.

He is a narcissist and will never step down

He loves his business empire

You will likely find its this, plus also I get the feeling Levy makes it very hard to negotiate. No picking up the phone to chat and stuff.

Surprisingly in total agreement Harry. I mentioned in earlier blog our problem has always been failure to shift guys we don’t want. Danny Rose hung around and we should have done something.
But tbf early days for our MDoF and we’ll have to see. But of course he can’t stop journo’s playing with us.

yes – Poch finished above them a few times so Levy decided he didnt neeed to back the team. Then fired Poch and hired the manager that got united to the heady heights of 5th.

Saints have sold a lot of players to Liverpool over recent years, Liverpool are actually run like a FOOTBALL club. They get deals done and are respected negotiators.if you know there are other clubs you could deal with, why would you want to get involved in and have to endure the torture of negotiating with Levy?

Levy doesn’t care about the football, he’s just going through the motions, it’s just show biz for him. If he’d have bought up part of Theatre Land to develop in Central London with a couple of theatres sitting in the middle of it, it would be no different. Just keep the punters coming through the door for cash flow purposes…

It could be Utd even. How gutting would that be given that we were finishing above them under Poch?

Baldini (our last Italian DOF) was brought in to spend the Bale money essentially. Loads of middle of the road dross ensued as a result. Levy says he hopes “a bit of that success wubs off on Tottenham” when talking about our ex Juventus man. Probably more lies and spin from the bald property developer methinks.

Paratici is very likely to have been brought in to perform the same function. There’s no other rational way of looking at it. You bring a ‘transfer guru’ into a club that goes a year without buying anyone then there’s going to have to be some kind of windfall of funds from somewhere. Kane is the only asset we have to sell and buy seven mediocre players with the proceeds. This is just Baldini all over again…

I think the Kane thing is a done deal – I think part of the “done deal” is that City need to make comments about being priced out. If anything it helps them as their rivals focus on trying to get Kane when he gone already. Levy did same trick with Bale. It stopped clubs bumping prices up. I am not sure how long a professional club will sit on this though as they will want a pre-season.

See the latest – Southampton dont want to do business with Levy. So its not they are not willing to sell Ings…they just dont want to deal with Levy!! Not that i want Ings, but still speaks volumes. I wonder how many players we will get from clubs that we have bought from before?

Over the years, we have been linked with numerous players that we were in talks with, but excuses like “personal terms could not be agreed” etc, have always led to a breakdown in talks. It is strange how other clubs seem to manage to get their transfer business efficiently and in time to bed them in for pre-season training. There have always been numerous leaks to the press about our targets which are for the most part hot air, probably emanating from Donna Cullen’s knickers. As far as I can remember, we have always had to sell before we buy as Levy has parroted the same old nonsense that we are different to other clubs. Due to the enormous debt burden hoisted on to THFC’s balance sheet by Levy’s hubris and poor judgement, without any recourse to his own financial risk, he has a ready made excuse. We have heard the tired and probably untrue mantra that Lewis and Levy are fans so there is an easy answer to this. As you have spent the last twenty two years building a property empire to enrich yourselves at the expense of the club’s on field success and to the detriment of the fans expectations, why not put your hands in your pockets and make an interest free loan to the club so that we can some worthwhile transfer business. This would be very preferable to the Levy method of recruitment which appears to be throwing darts at a map of the French Ligue.

There was an article a day or two ago in one of the mainstream papers about how we are looking to offload the likes of Sanchez, Aurier, Sissoko, Winks and Lamela (worryingly there was no mention of Dier). But that’s the only article I’ve read on the shifting of deadwood.

Levy probably pays these crappy football sites to write rumour articles, in the hope it helps flog more season tickets.

Most of it is white noise created by rumours and the media. How many times have we seen it – on the verge of buying so and so and then we buy some player that was never even mentioned!
