‘There has been contact’ – Tottenham in touch with manager Levy has admired since 2019

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann.

The 35-year-old was recently sacked and Thomas Tuchel has been appointed as his replacement at the German club.

There have been rumours that the north London club could look to bring him in as a replacement for Antonio Conte who was sacked last week.

Nagelsmann has proven his pedigree in German football over the years and he could prove to be an exciting addition to Tottenham.

According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Tottenham have made contact with the German manager but currently, the two parties are not involved in any concrete negotiations.

He said: “Tottenham is dealing with Julian Nagelsmann. There has been contact, but there are currently no concrete negotiations.”

Nagelsmann is not keen on taking a decision on his future right now and he is unlikely to take over at Tottenham immediately.

The German is still processing his departure from Bayern Munich and it will be interesting to see if he is willing to join the Premier League club at the end of the season.

The 35-year-old’s attacking football could be a big hit at Tottenham and his proactive approach could get the best out of Tottenham’s attacking talents.

The north London club have an array of attacking talent at their disposal and Antonio Conte’s conservative approach failed to get the best out of them.

The fans will certainly be excited to see an attacking manager in charge of the club.

Meanwhile, the report from Sky Germany claims that Tottenham tried to appoint Nagelsmann as their manager back in 2019 as well and club chief Daniel Levy has been an admirer of the German manager for some time.

It will be interesting to see if the Premier League side can get their preferred managerial target this time around.
