The various factors that Levy needs to consider as he weighs up whether to sack Antonio Conte now

Tottenham are yet to make the decision on whether to sack Antonio Conte or not following his extraordinary press conference on Saturday, according to Daily Mail.

Tottenham gave away a 3-1 lead to draw 3-3 against Southampton losing two crucial points in the race for the top 4.

And after the game, Conte surprised everyone by going on an incredible 10 minute rant in his press conference launching an attack on his own players calling them “selfish” questioning their commitment to the team. He also seemed to target the club owners and accused them of lacking ambition.

The Telegraph reported that Daniel Levy who was present at St Mary’s has spoken with Conte after his outburst and the Italian clarified to him that his comments were aimed at the players and not him or the Tottenham ownership.

However, the report now says that the club chairman is discussing the matter with his confidents and is ‘yet to decide’ whether Conte stays or goes.

If the club decides to sack him before his inevitable departure at the end of the season, they will have to pay him around £5m in compensation fee.

Another factor that Levy will be taking into consideration as pointed out in the report is whether the players will still want to fight for him after his outburst. If he has lost the dressing room, it could have a negative impact on Spurs’ chances of finishing strongly.

In the event of a sacking, Ryan Mason will be asked to take the charge temporarily until the end of the season with Spurs linked with a number of different candidates.

Among those linked is Mauricio Pochettino who is favourite to return to his former club for a second stint.

Other names include Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi who has done an excellent job with the Seagulls this season, former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel and former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique.
