Tottenham tied down the future of one of the top prospects in English football, with Troy Parrott signing a new contract at the club.
The striker, who turned 18 this week, has put pen to paper on a deal until 2023 to end speculation that a lack of first-team action could result in him following the likes of Jaden Sancho in looking abroad for his breakthrough.

Plenty of Spurs fans have been disappointed not to see more of Parrott during Harry Kane’s injury layoff, but Jose Mourinho has been cautious with him, giving him only one short cameo as a sub against Burnley.
But good things come to those who wait.
This compilation of goals from Parrott this season – mostly for the Republic of Ireland youth teams – is a reminder of the huge talent that we have on our hands when Mourinho decides the time is right to pull the trigger.
What is most impressive about Parrott here is the variety of finishes he has in his locker.
The toe-poked one-on-one, the cheeky chip, the classic curler into the far corner. Left foot, outside the box, it doesn’t matter; the kid is a natural goalscorer. He even sticks three penalties away, different each time.
Hopefully this commitment to the club will see him handed a few more minutes off the bench between now and the end of the season.
