The return of the Winks/Sissoko axis: Bale is in and Dele is out

By The Boy -

Tanguy on top!

An interesting line up from José this evening, which a cynic might describe as veering on the dysfunctional. The Wycombe were unlikely to get a more flattering role of the dice from the Portuguese.

The much maligned Winks/Sissoko midfield axis is thrust upon us, as is a backline that ought to keep Toby Alderweireld on his toes. There’s a unique arrangement upfront, with Bale, Lamela, Lucas supporting Vinicius – whom it might be said – I’m sure we all hope for a little more than another ‘half a yard out’ special.

Much has been mumbled about tonight’s opponents, although thankfully we’ve not had to endure the same embarrassing levels of adoration that were poured on Marine FC.

I expect Spurs to win by a margin of at least 2 goals. The Wycombe are 11/1, Tottenham are 2/9 on, and the draw is 5/1 in places.

Nice, we could only go up from here. This reminds me of Antwerp covfefe.

Not the Winks/Sissoko axis…football to die of boredom with.
