The Late Late 11 O’clocker: Was ‘Pochettino To Spurs’ A Tabloid Rumour That Got Out Of Hand?| video

By The Boy -

Tottenham needs a new coach and truth be told an even newer direction. The notion that Mauricio Pochettino’s return would in some way rejuvenate Spurs is ambitious. There’s little in the way of funds unless Harry Kane can be sold at a premium and the exit of lesser players would be challenged by a very flat footballing transfer economy.

Daniel Levy needs a coach that can hit the ground running and get a fresh, Champions League tune out of a largely now ageing squad. Poch is not that man.

How are these purveyors of indecency allowed to spread their poison without actual having detailed proof, which is what sky and the sun are doing, nothing new there of course as we know from past experience.
Nothing from Kane himself about wanting out and nothing from Poch or the club to say the deal is on, yet they continually make these declarations and then follow them up with ….nothing !

It amazes me how much of an emotional attachment some Spurs fans have for failure. They hang their hat on one night in Amsterdam and forget everything else.

Moyes is a good shout. I’ll concede that one. He has done a great job second time around.

It would show a complete lack of judgement on his behalf if he returned under Levy. No one can be successful under them so it’s really irrelevan5 whatever the tabloid press are drumming up

Can’t really argue about much there. His last full season was awful and getting to the CL final was pretty much a fluke. I also don’t know if we can put him on a pedestal for that, as we never turned up in the actual final itself. We enjoyed the biggest slice of luck against City and Ajax, but we didn’t make it count.

The only manager who’s returned and done a better job than before would probably be Moyes at West Ham, but other than that, I can’t think of anyone.

Seems there’s workplace tests and PCR that they give in Chemists and surgery’s and hospitals etc.The PCR is not fit for purpose.
I know people have to test at work, which is not right but I’m talking about these voluntary chemist and surgery tests with the posters everywhere with incorrect information on them to coerce people into going in.

Many workplaces require their staff to do 2 LFT tests a week, it is unavoidable for some.

I have done this for the last 3 months or so, all negative.

Where are all the people on here that were asking for Poch a week ago? In the words of Delia, let’s be havin you!

I have maintained that we look back on his reign with rose tinted glasses, a fluke run to the CL final papered over some giant cracks. It’s dangerous to just emotionally declare “yeah but he got us to the final of the biggest competition in Europe”, we had the largest portion of luck I have ever seen. We were awful in the group, should have lost against City and were even worse against Ajax, whilst we struggled massively in the league, playing incredibly poor football.

I cannot for the life of me see how this time could possibly be any different.

Does he now know how to break teams down that park the bus?
Does he have a tactical plan b?
Does he now think he can work with players he wanted to shift on in a “painful” rebuild?

This smacks to me of someone that worked at a village bank and was the top dog, then went for a plum job in the city and found it was too hard and now he just wants to go home where he’s comfortable and live with his bald dad.

Love the guy, genuinely, but no thank you.

If anyone can present a logical argument as to why this is a good idea (and I don’t just mean now…..I mean ever), then I am all ears.

If anyone can also give me an example of when returning managers (or players for that matter) have yielded better results than the first time around, happy to debate that too.

Also just noticed Gerard Moreno doing his vax promotion goal celebration in the Europa final. Absolutly dispicable.

Another attempt to incourage hesitant season ticket purchasers to part with cash? It was a mad notion and I can’t believe it’s seriously considered. Levys made bank for himself but the club is screwed, there will be no return to normality, this socialist distanced pitiful excuse for crowds will be it, if anything it’ll go the other way. As I said they are talking about going back on the restriction end date cos of “surges” in cases of the “variant”. The only reason there are cases “surging” is cos every chemist, surgery and media outlet is propagandizing healthy people into getting 2 wonky, not fit for purpose tests a week so the false positives are pushing numbers back up. A total scam that’s been allowed to continue for too long. If you’re not sick STOP GETTING TESTS ffs!? If you are, go to bed for a few days. If we don’t wake up now then it’s over. Those who were pricked maybe thinking on now….

I can’t for one minute believe that Poch would consider coming back for one simple reason…..I don’t believe that the guy is mentally unstable!

Out of context but should put a smile on people’s lips:
“you’re playing Villarreal here, you’re playing a team that finished seventh in a really poor La Liga. Manchester United should win this game comfortably. [Paul Scholes ahead of the cup final]

Replying to @GuillemBalagueThe pandemic has made life outside football harder than usual and half of his family (Poch’s) remain in his place in London, a property seen as permanent as the Barcelona one.

There is nobody on plant earth capable of that under the Levy/ENIC cosh…

L’Equipe explain there’s been slight concerns over how settled the manager (Poch) is, partly because he’s still living in a hotel.

Really wonder at the downvotes I usually see next to valid posts on here. You are spot on – Poch coming in would maybe raise the spirits for a few months and then it would be the same old. We still mostly have the same players who stopped playing for him and then threw Jose under the bus too!

But it’s nice to see how much fun the press are having with this absolute non-story.

And that in a nut shell is why the betting industry is _a bad thing_™!

Always annoys me when I see us doing more with William hill etc. That’s money made on people misery.

Only the dull of thinking thinks Poch returning like some kind of messiah is a good thing.

Their argument against those of us who think otherwise is based solely on emotion not facts.

Spot on. Just a nonsense story that makes no logical sense should you barely touch let alone scratch the surface, made into ’fact’ by people who should know better. Love your garden by the way H.

Season ticket renewal deadline is June 3rd. We don’t currently have a manager but Poch ‘may’ be returning.

Hmmmm ………… maybe I’m just a terrible cynic.

A tabloid joke that went too far. Poch lost the plot long before he decided to start Kane on a gimpy leg in the CL finals.

There are ‘journalists’ working for certain so called news outlets uch as the Athletic who are paid by betting companies to excite interest in certain candidates when a simulation such as Spurs manager becomes available.

Betting companies such as Skybet take absolute fortunes on various candidate who get quickly installed as near odds on favourites.

There is a certain ‘journalist’ with a double-barrelled surname who I am led to believe rakes in 5 times as much in commission from the betting companies for his ‘informative reporting’ than he gets from his alleged employers……who also rake in a handsome sum…
