The Athletic provides an update on the Adama Traoré transfer saga

By Eddie Razo -

The Adama Traoré transfer saga continues. With only a few days left until the January transfer window closes, Tottenham Hotspur is up against time to secure the deal for the Wolverhampton Wanderers forward.

According to The Athletic, no agreement yet for the 25-year-old, and Wolves are holding out for their asking price. Furthermore, Traoré is away with his family and is not due back at Compton Park for a few days.

Furthermore, the report states that Wolves won’t be desperate to sell right now, understanding there’ll be more market for him in the summer. Although they might get less considering, Traoré will only have one year left on his contract.

Wolves will also need to find a replacement and only have a couple of days to that until the end of the deadline. On Tottenham’s side of these negotiations, they don’t want to overpay to get a deal done for Traoré, so it will be interesting to see how this transfer saga ends.

I’d be happy to see Tanguy away & us get Draxxler on loan…. he would walk straight into the first team…

theres so much rubbish reported but it seems he’s always wanted to go back to Spain and Barca so if we big £15/£20/£25m then it wouldn’t have mattered. I’m not bothered I wasn’t sure that expedient would have worked hopefully now we are working on proper wingbacks

I don’t care anymore who comes we can never prosper with that lot running things

Ramon Vega gave some interesting insights into how things happen at Spurs in an interview with Chris Cowlin.

It helps explain why so many players fail at Tottenham.

Deal off now, Barca found some pennies down the back of the sofa. Could be a blessing in disguise, I’m sure we have sensible alternative options already lined up, albeit a little more expensive than oil boy.

Assumption is that you can never be too cynical when it comes to opinions about Levy. So how about he has no intention of getting Diaz but is using this as a way to flush Traore out of Wolves. Makes “Levy sense” after all he is so much cheaper-also not such a great player of course. But as others have commented Paratici is ostensibly there to give the impression that loads of genuine energy is being put into backing Conte. That’s the narrative. Smoke and mirrors.

Suggestion has been made that Adama wants to go back to Spain and hopes Barca will make an offer. Unless no deal upsets Conte I’m not bothered either way.

Levy has undoubtedly frozen this deal whilst going for Diaz. The thought of buying both would send him into meltdown as his spreadsheet would show too many outgoings.
The fact we desperately need an offensive RB won’t be taken into the equation. It’s always just about the money with Levy. When Conte eventually walks having not been properly backed, it will be events like this that caused it.
The accounts show that there is in the region of £85m available for transfers this window. Levy crying poverty just doesn’t wash. He is just a penny pincher who need psychiatric treatment for an obsession about saving money and a willingness to destroy a football club to do so.

If the club really want the player why would they risk losing him in the summer for the sake of £5m. It’s obvious Levy is still the puppet master because our approach to transfers is still the same as it ever was. I think Paratici’s job is to make us look busy.

There is a 98% chance of there.being no deal with levy thinking he can get him in the summer for 15 million…😏
