The Tottenham Stadium could be hosting a few European Championship games that were originally due to be played at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, but – and make what you will of this – the COVID-19 protocols in the Republic are more stringent than the UK. The Aviva is a state-of-the-art construction these days, and the old Lansdowne Road was demolished in 2007.
According to Mail Online, ENIC could end up being able to offer up to 25% of THFC’s stadium capacity, which could see up to 15,700 fans through the contactless turn styles. These are economically tough times and one would imagine that ENIC would be keen to bring in what cash they might get a sniff of. Again, Daniel Levy would see this as a further opportunity to give the stadium exposure – after all – there’s still no sign of a sponsor.
These fans reacted to the news in varying ways, but what will be interesting is the inevitable chairman’s statement outlining just how far behind ENIC are, once the crowds come back in normal numbers, presuming they ever do fully return.
Big up my guy Chris Powell. The academy is doing well.
As described above, our Academy has thankfully made serious money. All of the players mentioned came ‘through the ranks’ played for a few years and were then sold for serious money. If they hadn’t been in the squad their wages would have gone to someone else probably a player bought elsewhere and paid more. Our Academy is admired by many clubs for the amount of players that come through and continue in professional football and the transfer fees we received for the players above have been ridiculous in many cases. Caulker, Bentaleb, Pritchard, KWP, Carroll and Onamah barely played. The few million overall that they were paid massively compensated by the 10s of millions we received for them. Whatever anyone thinks of the Academy, it is very profitable
cheers mate.
If they all played for free you’d be right.
Chelsea’s academy makes money, ours does not.
Townsend, Caulker, Mason, Bentaleb, Pritchard, KWP, O’Hara, Livermore, Carroll, Kelly, Onamah brought in around £100m. There have also been many other sales of £250-£500K. The Academy has been incredibly profitable.
My sources of info are not the internet
Wanna bet?
Did City get a soft pen? Defo them or Poch.
Yes,an untold amount that won’t be fully invested into the team no doubt!
Would love to know your sources of info tap…last I read it costs clubs roughly 400k for an academy player from youth to sell on and not many go for more to make up the short fall….also, I read ENIC have a 30odd million mortgage on the training ground…maybe they bought the land with the money….but I could be wrong as this was a few years ago..
😃
The only time I’ll kneel down is to pick up my false teeth..
Its raised enough so far to pay for Hotspur way. Untold billions gonna pass through Tottenham in the next 25 year’s. UNTOLD
How much has it raised so far?
Levery penny counts….
Off topic I see BLM co founder Patricia Cullers has spent multi millions on several properties for herself….not bad for a rabid marxist….probably in white neighborhoods.
If you knelt or applauded, that’s what you did it for. Farce.
The academy will pay for a lot of the stadium over the next 25 years. Stop panicking
Any money will go towards paying off the debt…its going to be.a long 50 years…
Not definite, but Irish Football authorities and government haven’t been able to guarantee the numbers that UEFA want at the matches. The Covid situation is not as under control in the Republic of Ireland as it seems to be in the UK. The vaccine roll out hasn’t been as fast as the UK.
Why not that’s what it was built for ,if more people get to see the stadium the more positive vibe it gets.
Say what you will about it but anyone that has been in it has been impressed.
A bit of cash of which hopefully the team gets£5.50 for players and they can have a practise at all the new covid protocols for the season proper.
Is this I’d definite ?
