“Take a long look at his options” former Tottenham man makes Harry Kane claim

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham legend, Chris Waddle reckons that Spurs doesn’t have to worry about the future of Harry Kane this summer because the Englishman isn’t going anywhere.

Kane has been one of the most prolific strikers in the world for so many years now and it is understandable that some of the world’s best teams are looking to sign him.

The striker has also hinted that he would leave the Lilywhites if they cannot match his ambition of winning trophies.

Waddle, however, knows that Kane might leave Spurs in the future, but he doesn’t think that the Englishman would be looking to leave this summer.

This is because the coronavirus pandemic has affected the transfer market and because Kane would come at a high price, Waddle doesn’t think that there would be a team that can spend that much money to land him when the transfer window reopens.

That said, Waddle also reckons that come to the end of next season if Spurs have not progressed then Kane will need to have a long look at his options.

The Tottenham legend told the Racing Post via Express Sports: “It has been an unsettled year but I get the feeling Kane may give it another season at Tottenham and then take a long look at his options.

“It’s a big year now the Euros have been rearranged and it could take 12 months for everything to settle down and for clubs to have a good look at their finances. The stupid money is just not going to be about.

“So Harry could bide his time but he will want to see things improve in the meantime, and then where will Spurs be?

“They will be back to being a club who might finish fourth or might finish seventh and will be seen as one that sells its best players.

“Mourinho tends to stick around for three seasons and move on, but I don’t know what better offer he is going to get than the job he has now.”

Kane has remained Spurs’ main goal-getter and he has already scored 13 league goals from 23 games this season.

Kane’s and Sons resignation letters will be on the bald ones desk on the 95th minute of the last game of the season.

Kane will go to Utd for around £100 million plus. Sonny will prob end up at Real Madrid for circa £85 million.

My guess is negotiations are already under way.

Yes, Kane may be priced out the market, but really if he pushes to go then he will, no point having a real top asset drop in value as the just don’t want to be there would be nuts *cough eriksen cough*. I think Kane and all at spurs are very aware that spurs need a ground up rebuild of the squad, I doubt Kane will want to stick around for another rebuild, and Jose will get more out of £200m than he will get out of an unhappy Harry. Anyone seriously confident he is staying is delusional.

Having observed Son’s body language since he came back from military service, he doesn’t look happy. He has huge appeal to the Asian market and is very sellable. We are a selling club still with our net spend there for all to see, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they both went. They are our two major assets. I doubt you would get much for Alli, he’s a busted flush.

Coming 4th next season is the best we can do really, so Kane will have gone another season without winning anything. Be interesting if he and his agent forces the issue. He might be under contract, but so was Berbatov. I don’t think this next ‘project’ will involve Kane unfortunately. Sane and Werner hardly went for peanuts so we could still get a big sum for Kane to reinvest in 2-3 quality players. Problem is we need 5 signings to play alongside Kane! Without him, we need 6.
