‘Superstar’ midfielder is set to snub interest from Premier League club as he awaits offer from Tottenham Hotspur

Weston McKennie is wanted by Bournemouth, but the Juventus midfielder appears to be awaiting interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

The Cherries have new American owners in Bill Foley and Hollywood star Michael B. Jordan. Which is why it is no surprise that the American international is allegedly wanted by them.

However, according to Corriere della Sera, McKennie is expected to reject the approach from Bournemouth and is awaiting an offer from the North London club.

McKennie sees himself playing for a bigger club and might consider a move from Juventus to Bournemouth a downgrade.

There are other Premier League clubs reportedly interested in him with the likes of Tottenham, and Chelsea both linked with the American midfielder. Borussia Dortmund are also linked with a move the 24-year-old.

It has been reported that McKennie is currently waiting for concrete offers from the other clubs interested in signing him.

There have been multiple reports indicating that Tottenham’s director of football, Fabio Paratici, is a big fan of McKennie.
Fabio Paratici brought McKennie to Juventus in 2020 after noticing his potential at Schalke in the Bundesliga.
According to Alasdair Gold, a reliable source on Tottenham news, the Italian preferred signing McKennie to Bentancur in the January transfer window of last year.
Gold also mentioned on YouTube that Paratici sees McKennie as a “superstar” and remains a big fan of the American midfielder.
And hence, it is not surprising that Tottenham may be interested in signing McKennie, especially if he is considering rejecting an offer from Bournemouth.
That being said, a move for McKennie might be deemed unnecessary since many would feel that Spurs are well stocked in the midfield but it is the other positions that needs more attention such as a top-class centre-back, a right-sided wing-back, and a creative attacking midfielder.
