It never rains but it pours at Hotspur Way. According to Charlie Eccleshare of The Athletic, Spurs’ ace in the hole summer signing is now hanging in the balance.
As things stand, unless something approaching seismic happens, then Tottenham are unlikely to even scrape a Europa League place. If, and it seems like an immensely plausible clause, the Hojbjerg is dependent upon top tier football, then things look decidedly sticky.
The Sun’s Dave Kidd gave Jose a metaphorical kicking this morning. The bad news for Mr. Kidd is twofold, one is that Mourinho is no stranger to having the whole ‘Special One’ deal thrown in his face a good many times before today.
And for two, Mourinho’s record at Chelsea 16 odd years ago, when he had more money to spend than anyone else in Europe, is hardly a straight measure of how poorly the 56-year-old is performing in 2020.
Mourinho has his work cut out …and that’s why he earns the big bucks.
Who’s ever gone onto a course half way through it and ever done very well.
Jose just need to get rid of most (if not all) of pochs dead lot. He will
Mourinho what a steal at 3M.Another missed opportunity.
We hardly bought CL players anyway even when we were in it…problem is we don’t have a very good scouting team/network either to bring gems in so the only way to get out of this trouble is to spend big..which we know will not happen, but without that we will struggle with the likes of Wolves etc for years to come….ohh Levy, what a mess you have put yourself in…its ok though, it wasn’t your money in the first place, please jog on!
This is all more predictable than a two headed coin.
What that chart tells me is that Spurs are at the moment a very average side. What it doesn’t tell me is how without the money for quality players he changes this.
