“Stoke have done really well in the Carabao Cup and it’s at the Bet365 stadium.” Pundit warns Tottenham

By Bruce Grove -

Kevin Campbell has warned Tottenham not to underestimate Stoke City in their Carabao Cup quarter-final game this evening.

Spurs are looking to end their 12-year wait for a trophy and this competition offers them the chance to win the first trophy on offer this season.

They have already eliminated Chelsea from the competition this season and Stoke should be an easier task, but Campbell has warned them against seeing Michael O’Neill’s side as a small team.

The Potters have been on a fine run of form especially at the back recently, but they will have to face an in-form Harry Kane and Son Heung-min in this game.

Yet Campbell thinks that Spurs will be doing themselves a disservice by underrating the former Premier League side.

He told Football Insider: “It’s a tough game for Stoke but Stoke have done really well in the Carabao Cup and it’s at the Bet365 stadium.

“We know what Spurs bring to the table, they defend deep and go on the counter-attack.

“Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son are one of the form partnerships in Europe so they’ve got to be vigilant.

“Stoke’s defence have been pretty good actually, they’ve defended very well of late.

“The issue with Stoke is the firepower – can they get ahead? If they can get ahead it could be a difficult day for Tottenham. The key is getting ahead.”

This competition offers Spurs the best chance to win something this season and Mourinho will likely field his best players which will be the key to them winning the game.
