Star player with 43 goal contributions ‘says yes’ to Tottenham; clubs discussing fee

By Mehdi Gokal -

Ruslan Malinovskyi has agreed to join Tottenham Hotspur, according to Tutto Atalanta, with Spurs still negotiating a fee for the Atalanta star.

The report claims that Malinovksyi has already ‘said yes’ to Tottenham, and Atalanta are willing to let him go as well but on their terms rather than Spurs’.

Tottenham would like to sign Malinovksyi on loan with a purchase option, but Atalanta are not interested. Instead, they would prefer to sell him for a fee of at least £16.9 million, and if that is not possible, they would prefer to do a loan deal with an obligation to buy clause rather than an optional one. As a result, the two clubs are ‘distant’ at the moment, but Atalanta’s willingness to at least negotiate a loan deal suggests that they can get closer.

Malinovskyi is said to be planning to make the switch in the coming weeks. The ball is now in Tottenham’s court to try to reach an agreement with his club on a fee.

In his last three league seasons, the midfielder has 43 goal contributions, serving as a consistent source of attacking output for Atalanta – while also being capped by Ukraine on 49 occasions and scoring seven goals. If this deal goes through, Tottenham fans will be thrilled, as Malinovskyi could be that missing creative piece of the puzzle and a much cheaper option compared to the other players linked with Spurs.

By the look of him he isn’t a midfielder, although he can play there. Looks more to be a cuter alternative for Kulsevski, or an option if we want a 10 to make a 4231 or 433.

Great numbers. See the link below

Thrilled? Hold your horses fella. This smacks that it could be our 5th choice midfielder. I do think we need a Ukrainian player, as other clubs assisted by the Media, have been getting the sympathy vote once their Ukrainian player has cried having scored, assisted, crossed a ball or won a throw-in. Is that too cynical? More than likely.

Never mind shirt sales, Levy will exploit this opportunity by placing Ukrainian flags in the shop with our club crest on.

He fits what we need in terms of profile. Another left footed, creative forward who will chip in G+A, who can play CM, 10, or RW.

Not aware of him, but Atalanta have been very impressive in Serie A and Europe, and Italy has been a successful hunting ground. If Conte and Paratici are on the same page then you have to trust them.

Numbers are really good. Check out his per-minute for Atalanta

He has a goal/assist every 145 minutes for Atalanta in all comps. Pretty good really.

Serie A alone even better, every 112.

Even split too.

What are Malinovksyi’s numbers like? How does he compare to Maddison or Zaniolo?
