Spurs youngster has his say on England stars breaking covid protocols

By Bruce Grove -

Oliver Skipp has added his voice to the conversation as England’s senior players continue to break the covid19 rules.

Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden broke COVID-19 rules when the team were in Iceland in the last international break, the likes of Tammy Abraham and Jadon Sancho broke it again to attend a party of up to 20 people, ignoring the rule of six recently.

These occurrences within the past few months have shown that some footballers can really be irresponsible and Skipp claims that the recent happenings show that the footballers need to care more about the rules.

This is because they are not just individuals but they are role models who are representing their country.

He admitted that others also break the laws but the footballers need to be careful to avoid these reoccurring incidences.

‘Maybe with the incidents that have gone on, perhaps it shows that maybe they need to be a bit more careful,’ Skipp said via Mail Online.

‘You have to represent not only yourself but the whole country. It is hard but I don’t think you should single out footballers because it’s hard for everyone at the moment.

‘People are not sure whether they are going back to university, things like that.

‘I feel like as footballers, yes, people might get away with things that you might not. But it’s our duty and we’re fully aware of what’s expected of us.’

Skipp has joined Norwich City on loan for the rest of this season and he has been trusted by the Championship side in most games in the campaign so far.
