Queens Park Rangers have won the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur forward Yang Min-hyeok on loan.
That’s according to journalist Alasdair Gold, who reported on Wednesday that QPR will bring the South Korean on board, hoping Spurs are also ‘confident’ of bringing another attacker in before the close of the January window.
“Yang Min-hyeok set to move to QPR today on loan,” Gold wrote on X. “A chance for the 18-year-old to get experience of the pace and physical nature of the English game at a lower level, and you’d hope means Spurs are confident of bringing in an attacker in the coming days.”
Gold’s confirmation comes after reports that multiple Championship clubs were chasing Yang on loan.
Spurs Web reported on Wednesday that Watford were also interested in securing a deal.
“Watford are also interested in a loan deal for new Spurs signing Yang Min-hyeok,” Steve Han told Spurs Web.”It does seem like QPR are currently frontrunners to land the 18-year-old winger on a six-month deal, but Watford were also keen.”
Fabrizio Romano also revealed that ‘there was interest from three clubs’ before QPR emerged as winners for his signature.
What has Ange Postecoglou said about Yang Min-hyeok?

Given his lack of European experience, Yang’s loan to the Championship won’t come as a surprise to many.
In fact, just a few weeks ago, Ange Postecoglou said the teenage winger needed time to ‘settle’ into his new surroundings, so a loan that keeps him in London seems an ideal next step.
“Just let him settle. He is still very young and has come in from the other side of the world where the level of competition is nowhere near what he is going to face here. We will just give him time to adapt,” said Postecoglou.
“It helps that Sonny is here and kind of helps him around when he is at the club and outside the club. We are just trying to get him settled early and give him the chance to settle in. No real plan, we will just take it as it goes with him and see how he settles in.”
