Chris Waddle reckons Tottenham are one of the title favourites this season and he hailed Jose Mourinho for turning them into a team that wants to win all the time.
Spurs have been one of the in-form teams in the Premier League this season and they were joint top of the league table before their 2-1 loss to Liverpool this week.
They went into the game looking to beat the Reds and go three points clear but they ended up losing all the points.
The club’s players were obviously unhappy with the result and that made a good impression on Waddle.
He says that it is unfortunate that they have lost the game, however, he could see that they wanted to win and played to win by the disappointment on their faces following the result of the match.
He then backed them to challenge for the title this season.
“He’s turned Spurs around,” Waddle said on BBC Radio 5 Live as quoted by Thesportreview.
“Tottenham did well but I can understand the disappointment. They didn’t take their chances.
“The good thing for Jose will be that he has a Spurs team that are honest and you can see the desire and passion there. They weren’t happy when they lost. He has moulded them into a Mourinho team. He wants winners who will give everything for the club. He’s got some talented players.
“They won’t be far short. If Liverpool FC have a blip or don’t keep performing like they did for long periods on Wednesday night, Spurs will be there ready to challenge them. They’re serious challengers.”

Leicester is a massive game now – a draw would have been acceptable if we’d picked up 3pts at Palace and one at Anfield.
Now only a win will do to keep the momentum going.
If we win the next two games convincingly then I’m with Chris on this, we’ll be up there.
I like Chrissy, always speaks sense and always with passion, he also said we were certs for top 4.
Nice list…obviously you were use to Spurs winning things…the 91 FA cup has been my lot apart from the odd Mickey mouse cup
