Spurs want to repeat Perisic steal by signing £55k-p/w “beast” for free – Conte is a ‘big fan’

Spurs remain interested in signing Wolves star Adama Traore according to 90min. The North London club has had an interest in the Spanish speedster since the summer of 2021.

According to the report, Antonio Conte is said to be a ‘big fan‘ of the Spain international, and he came close to signing him last January before deciding to join his boyhood club, FC Barcelona, on loan.

It also states that Spurs are ‘reluctant to pay‘ a fee for him in January and would prefer to sign him for free in the summer, but there’s a chance that other European clubs interested in him, such as Napoli, Inter Milan, and Atletico Madrid, will offer him a pre-contract deal on January 1st.

If the reports are true and they manage to sign Traore this time, Spurs could be on the verge of another Ivan Perisic-style deal, as he’ll be landing a top-quality option for no money.

Traore is one of the most feared players in the league and his attributes are admired by some top managers. He has been previously dubbed as ‘unplayable’ by Jurgen Klopp while Xavi Hernandes labelled him a physical ‘beast’.

But for a player with so many dangerous attacking characteristics, he seriously lacks the end product. in 172 appearances, when Spain international has only nine goals and 16 assists, and was involved in 2 goals in 16 apps.

However, in a star-studded team with the likes of Harry Kane, Richarlison, Kulusevski, and Son up front, he could be much more impactful. He also would feel at home playing at the right-wing back, a position he is very familiar with having played there in the past.

Despite him not having the best end product, a move to sign him for free would be a no-brainer.
