Spurs urged to take advantage of Chelsea’s managerial change to beat them

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham will be facing a Chelsea side this evening that has just named Thomas Tuchel as their latest manager.

The German has managed them for two games so far and lost none, but Spurs should present him his biggest test so far.

Tuchel achieved success in France with PSG and in Germany with Borussia Dortmund, but he is just starting life in the Premier League.

Ahead of their match today at the Tottenham Stadium, Standard Sports’ Tottenham correspondent, Dan Kilpatrick, admits that it could be a bad time to play the Blues given their new manager bounce.

But he also says Spurs can get a win, as Tuchel is finding his way around the competition.

He, however, concluded by admitting that Chelsea will be confident of having a go against a Kane-less Spurs.

When asked if he thought this was the best time for Spurs to play Chelsea, he said via Standard Sports: “Given their new manager bounce, it feels like a particularly bad time to be playing Chelsea, although Spurs can take heart from the fact that Tuchel is still working out his best team and getting his ideas across.

“Conversely, Chelsea should relish playing a Kane-less Spurs who are suffering from a crisis of confidence.”

Spurs have lost back-to-back league games, and this is an opportunity for them to get back to winning form.

Maybe fatigue played a part against Brighton but I expect a far better effort tonight. I can accept a defeat in any game but I can’t accept a can’t be bothered attitude.
