Report: Spurs are now looking at a Brazilian right-sided centre back

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur appears to be on the verge of landing Clément Lenglet from FC Barcelona, but it seems as though they might not be done with the central defensive position. According to journalist Ekrem Konur, Spurs are in talks for 26-year-old defender Rodrigo Becão.

Konour reports that Udinese wants £12 million for the Brazilian center-back, who is under contract until 2024 and has a transfer value of £5 million. However, the north London club isn’t alone as Everton is also in the mix for Becão, so they’ll face competition.

Cristian Romero and Eric Dier are the undisputed starters in Antonio Conte’s backline of three. However, the third spot is up for grabs, with Lenglet, Ben Davies, and Davinson Sanchez among those vying for that spot.

Sanchez has been a name in the mix for a possible transfer out of the north London club, but if all three players are grabbing for one spot, adding another center-back without a player from the group departing is an odd pursuit.

2 questions

  1. Is he willing to put his head in where it counts
  2. Would he turn his back if facing a top class striker such as Ronaldo

If so although I have never heard of him – sign him up.
