Jose Mourinho had a mini moan on Saturday about the uncertainty caused by Christian Eriksen’s protracted move to Inter Milan going down to the wire.
He told BBC Sport: “I just want to say that this situation shouldn’t happen on 25 January.”
But the delay in concluding the most inevitable transfer of the January window appears to have allowed Daniel Levy to push up the price.
Earlier this week, we were told by Sky Sports that £16.8m was the figure Spurs were set to recoup for selling their star playmaker.
But the MailOnline claimed on Sunday that Inter have now agreed to pay £17.5m… PLUS an extra 5% (£875,000), which will go to Ajax due to a sell-on clause inserted in the deal which saw him move to London in 2013.
The Mail also claim that Eriksen will have his Milan medial on Monday.
Eriksen’s first task at the San Siro may be to fight Ashley Young over set-piece duties. Young made his Serie A debut on Sunday and claimed his first assist after just 28 minutes and one second.

This saga is dragging on so long you just know it ain’t going to happen.
Fair play Jose calling it out too. Sly dig at the bald one perhaps ?
Fight young over dead balls????? Wait til his first corner hits the defender in front t of the front post at ankle height 😂😂
