Spurs Superstar Managed Just 15 Successful Passes Against Bayern München

Dele Alli has been stealing a living at Tottenham since he signed for us. Sure the boy occasionally papered over the cracks when he first joined, but the truth was always there – that he never ever put a decent shift in.

Flicks, tricks, nutmegs and effeminate handshakes galore, but no substance.

Great players aren’t perceived as putting more energy into commercial deals than they are into playing the game. Jeez, Messi and Ronaldo have their faces plastered over every damn product one might imagine.

Last night was yet another big game in which he dawdled about in, adding nothing to. Dele’s passing accuracy when he did condescend to get involved was abysmal.

With junk like this in the squad, it’s no wonder Tottenham were the first English side to concede seven goals in any European competition since 1995.

First we were endlessly told Dele was ‘young’, but at 23 years of age, in footballing years, the weak link is approaching middle age.

Spurs have failed to churn their squad sufficiently, and Dele encapsulates the lack of progression, the stagnancy. Moreover, if Alli was sold, it would stop Pochettino failing to sub him again – whenever he plays as anonymously as he did last night.

Yes, its been a con from day 1. This was always going to happen. Arsenal used to win doubles at Highbury, the stadium is a mythology. Lewis got involved for the gentrification, social engineering and the NFL/events angle. Us on here were always getting shit for speaking up about it but the majority were hoodwinked. Not the only fan base to be deceived.

I think a few of us on here said that the shit would probably hit the fan once we got into the new stadium and the reality of actually needing to behave behaving like a big ambitious club became into sharper focus.

So here we are, Levy has bottled it… No sorry, he’s planned this all along. I was speaking to a Gooner mate of mine and he said that when they were building the Emptycrates the spin coming out of the club was around “joining Europe’s elite” and the fans bought it. Why wouldn’t they?

Then they changed their stance and started going on about developing players and building for the future. 10 years down the line and Woolwich are playing in the Ropey League, they’ve gone backwards since playing at Highbury, not the other way around.

Part of me wanted to believe that lessons would have been learned from that and that Levy (despite all his crap in the past) would at least understand the need to develop the ‘brand’ in the right way along with the new ground.

Instead we have a squad that desperately needs replenishing, 4 disgruntled key players running their contracts down and a transfer window that can only be described as a shit shower of micro management and penny pinching. Leaving us with half a team who have mentally already left the club.

We have now had it confirmed as to where ENIC are taking the club, absolutely fucking nowhere fast, just like the past 18 years.

ENIC are con artists and losers, anyone who continues to fall for it is a retard…

Yep, the writing seems to be on the wall. Giving Davies, KWP and Sissy new contracts stinks of Levy tying cheaper wage players down so at least when Poch walks we at least have a few players to take to the pitch! I can see it now, a relegation battle with those three and Winks bravely battling on in a team with no quality at all…

Levy and Lewis have been experts at both managing the fan’s expectations and also passing the blame onto everyone else.

The facts are there, we DO have the 7th highest wage bill in the league, we`DO have one of the lowest net spends. We DO have 4 key players in the final year of their contracts. We DID sign only one player over two years.

As Poch has made quite clear, Levy is in charge of player transfers and contract negotiations. This whole situation is down to a lack of investment in the team and poor planning and poor transfer activity. Did Levy (the poor love) get all distracted trying to ‘deliver’ the stadium? Or is this just the same stuff we’ve seen from him and ENIC over the last almost 20 years?

Anyone blaming Poch for this mess either doesn’t know anything about football or they’re an utter cretin. There are a lot of cretins out there, clearly…

It was also the charateristic lack of ruthlessness in front of goal. We could easily have put the game to bed in the first half hour with the number of clear chances created. Same as in virtually all the games in 2019 where points have been dropped — numerous great chances spurned, then ruthlessly punished at the other end by far more clinical finishing.

The Sad thing is , no matter who comes in for Botch Levy will still be the same Levy . We are all deluded to think otherwise , Enic and Levy will NEVER give up their Cash Cow which is THFC until they are made to . This is almost impossible when you have the MSM still giving Levy credit .

Its bleak when you look at it. There’s probably 4 players good enough for top 4 football on the books. Toby, Jan, Kane and Son. 3 of them will likely be gone in 12 months. Probably the manager too. We are left with some odds and sods and some kids with a 60’000 bowl to pay for and fill every week. Vicenza’s reality looks more and more likely for us. I say ‘us’, there’s nothing really left of the Tottenham I knew.

I’d add that both Bayern and Athletico have had to rebuild and refresh their squads and appear to be able to achieve this with little fuss. Just requires some impetus and ability to clear out deadwood/players that no longer want to play for the club. Then identify targets in advance of the season and get them in pre-saeson so they hit the ground running.

Over the last 18 months we should have outed Wanyama, Aurier and N’Koudo. Similarly, if contracts were not being signed, Eriksen and co should have gone when we had the opportunity to get some revenue. As its stands over £100M of talent is going to simply walk out of the door.

At the same time, someone like N’Dombele should havebeen purchased when Dembele was in the death throes of his time at the club – not 18 months later. A creative midfielder, proper CF back-up/competition for Kane and some quality full-backs should have been eased in also.

The current situation is all self-made and it’s hard to believe that so called astute leaders could let such events occur.

Whilst Bayern were absolutely clinical, I think we all knew a result lilke this was on the cards.

What I struggle to understand is how the PL’s highest paid Chairman is one who has one poxy trophy to his name, a vast overspend on a highly delayed stadium, and one who despite being ‘business savvy’ has allowed three of our top players to enter the last year of their contracts.

Don’t get me wrong, certain players such as Alii need to be shifted and Poch’s tactics leave a lot to be desired at times. But the man at the top needs to be held accountable and act asap.

A lack of leaders on the pitch has never been addressed, Hugo is a vice captain, at best.

Aurier should have his contract paid out and be allowed to leave on a free, he’s only playing because Tripps left and KWP and Foyth are injured.

He’s a terrible defender and has never looked good enough to oust Trippier, even when Trippier was playing very badly. Aurier is representative of everything Levy wants for the club. Cheap bargain bucket signings who are unwanted by the selling club, who are lovely-jubbly cheap as chips…

Yes, sad as it is for the fans, the only hope we have of ENIC leaving is for the wheels to completely come off and they decide enough is enough. We need to be out of Europe, Poch to walk and more shitty signings from Levy so we can become fully the embodiment of ENIC, which is a scary thought!

Dier has halved? He was worth more than £12m at one point! I would say we would be lucky to get a combined fee of £30m for both Dier and Alli.

I haven’t watched the game, I had it recorded to watch when I got home from a late work thing and accidentally found out the score – come to the conclusion I don’t think I want to waste 2hrs of my life watching it.
The stats support your comments above, Bayern didn’t beat us so much as we gave them guild edge chances. They only had 19 shots to our 17, and 10 on target to our 7. Possession was equally as close. The only explaination was we gave them a lot of the ball in dangerous area’s.

yep…I discussed this recently…the team were valued at one of the highest in Europe not that long ago..everyone had wet dreams, now you would be lucky to get 30m for Dele, 3 will leave for free, Dier has halved his value, Rose couldn’t be sold to Watford…

did you see the Beeb telling us something along the lines of “alli played his best game in years” reminded them he is a great footballer…Honestly – they make us some crap…!
Meanwhile, in Yorkshire, our loan boy AGAIN didn’t play! cant get into a championship side. This summer has really annoyed me, people talking about it being great, but it was abject shit and this season is proving it.

The Sissoko contract, add Davies to that, and to a lesser extend KWP renewal were done because they were cheap…he won’t pay market rate for top players to keep them and he won’t pay market rate for top players to buy them….his business model is out of date if you want to compete with the big boys…but in the mean time; £75.00 for a cheap seat last night, £1,200.00 average ST price; 20k (minimum 2 years) for the “lower” end corporate seat per person…..I guarantee the food and drink prices will slowly start to go up..

Everything Levy has done has been done with someone else’s money, be it Lewis, bank loans or the lottery windfall of TV money, AND using the blind cult faith of us fans to rinse at every opportunity …genius my ars, shark more like!

In the first half we were in the game and if we had taken the chances we created [like they did]we could have perhaps run out close winners. However it was obvious during that first half that their wide men were able to get behind us at will and that problem was never addressed,I thought in the first 45 minutes Toby played well. The late goal killed us off.
There is no excuse for the second half performance,we were abysmal.Aurier’s inability to defend and track back exposed our defenders to their pacy front men.Hugo’s look of confusion after each goal went in spoke volumes. He is not a leader nor a captain. there is more response from a garden gnome.
We do really find ourselves at a crossroads with the owners, manager and players seemingly all pulling in different directions. The solution is not a quick fix and will require massive investment in the squad.Unfortunately this will never happen under ENIC.There will be a massive exodus of players and the manager by next summer and Levy will have his giant toilet bowl suitably filled with a team playing absolute shit.Whilst it will hard on the club,I want this debacle to bring about the demise of ENIC nothing less.

It was inevitable the avalanche of plebs coming to site everything but Levy for this mess. It helps when the radio stations put 1 in 10 anti Levy calls and its always a poor sod who can’t argue the point properly. Previous blog about Pochs mental weirdness shows the lunacy that permeates this club.. Its not just Poch of course, one genius blamed the whole thing on Maurice’s comment before the CL final about leaving??! Never mind the form since Xmas has been Utter shit and its been bilge for some time.
Goldstein kept bringing up Ndombele to defend Levy, nobody said anything about that being a 2 year late replacement for Moose and the net spend was nicely put back to type.
We are surrounded by shills and imbeciles. Its not getting worse than 2-7 at the bowl without a soul yet Levy and Lewis STILL get a pass. 😲😲😲

We should be thankfull to Redknapp and Poch for the last decade, if you look back Levy had taken us to the bottom of the prem by 2007. This could have happened a lot sooner.

Couldn’t agree more about Alli, as I have posted on this site many times. He doesn’t even tackle like a proper football, his challenges tend to be late or off the ball, he is an embarrassment to Spurs. He would be the first player I would sell as a start to the inevitable cleansing of the Augean stables. Unfortunately, his star has waned to such an extent that where he was once valued at £100 million as a figure, what would he fetch now?

Dele did a lot of dawdling, as he did against Colchester. But the primary culprits for the humiliation were elsewhere:

1st goal: Rose lost his man

2nd goal: Ndombele failed to clear

3rd goal: Aurier lost his man

4th goal: Winks gave it away

5th goal: Aurier lost his man

6th goal: Toby gave it away.

7th goal: Aurier gave it away

The sort of carelessness and lack of focus that doesnt matter if you’re playing Stoke. But Bayern Munich are absolutely clinical when presented with any sort of opening, in stark contrast to sonny, ndombele, sissy, eriksen and co.

Tbh the overall gulf in technical ability, poise and commitment shocked me last night, as did poch’s complete failure to answer the tactical questions posed.

Fortunately it’s not Bayern every week but I fear the effect this could now have on self belief even against lesser teams. A savage reminder of spurs’ real place in the scheme of things, despite the most expensive ticket prices in world football.
