Spurs reject offers for youngster so that he can learn from Bale

By Bruce Grove -

One of the young players in the current Spurs set up that could suffer from the club’s summer recruitment drive is Jack Clarke.

The young Englishman joined Spurs from Leeds United last summer and he was sent back to Elland Road to complete last season with the Whites.

His loan spell in the first half of the season was unsuccessful and he was recalled and sent out on loan again to QPR in the second half of the campaign, where he still struggled.

He faces an uphill task to be a part of the Tottenham team this season and he will probably benefit more from another loan spell away from the club.

However, Football London is claiming that Tottenham has turned down offers from Championship teams to take him on loan for the rest of this season.

This is because the club wants him to train and develop alongside their top stars like Harry Kane and Gareth Bale.

The teenager hasn’t been away with any national team in this international break, so he has been training at the club with Bale who is also not on international duty as he recovers from his own injury.

Clarke will hope that he can impress enough to earn a few minutes of football this season and with a mentor like Bale he certainly is in a good position to step up and show us what he can do.

He wasn’t played Bc of the other loan players already at the club and ones brought in to cover his position when he left so there was no room for him. Nothing to do with talent.

Bielsa didn’t fancy him and he couldn’t even get on the bench when we loaned him back tbh. Waste of money that could have gone on a striker at the time.

If Jack trains with Gareth he might be worth putting on the bench in about 30 years. I’m not sure about this, surely game time for a C-ship team that actually played him would be much better. Gareth isn’t as magician, his kind of skill is entirely unique, I don’t think Jack will come remotely close to him, but I hope I’m wrong.

The more I think about it, I remember when Gareth was just a bit better than ordinary for us, then something happened and he got the ability to fly past people as if they were statues. Maybe Bale CAN teach jack how to fly.

When he was a Leeds Player he was bossing the wing in the same vein as Graham Roberts use to do (obviously not AS good) but I thought his move to us would have taken off in a big way for him. Maybe the idea of being loaned out just doesn’t suit him.. I hope that’s the reason because he WAS a very exciting player to watch, and i hope he will be again.

Did they really turn down loan offers for him? I’m serous. Why we bought this guy is a complete footballing mystery. He looks quite average (cue excuses from the Dele Alii play book). His first touch isn’t that good, all the control of a geriatric bedweitter, crossing on a par with Aurier and has he managed to beat his man in any of his limited appearances? Still, if he is prepared to knuckle down and learn from the greatest living Welshman who knows what he might achieve?

Yep. Get some Tottenham in him. Keep him here for a bit.
