Bayern Munich’s star winger Leroy Sané has become one of the most remarkable names in the transfer market. Despite being top of the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich have clarified that they are concerned about Sané’s contribution.
The Boy Hotspur understands that Sané’s situation seems to have caught the attention of English Premier League clubs. Arsenal stand out as the club showing the most serious interest in the player. The Gunners are planning to offer Sane a contract until 2028. However, the Germans will have to reduce the annual wage they demand. Mikel Arteta believes the German winger will be a good rotation player.
Other Premier League clubs such as Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham are also open to talks about Sané. However, they have not yet held a meeting. Sources said he will contact his agents in the coming weeks to discuss in detail with Premier League clubs. Sané’s name has also been rumoured with his former club Manchester City, but no concrete progress has been made yet.
Our view
Look, this is a grade-A footballer with back to back Premier League titles to his name, not to mention 6 other pieces of domestic silverware from his exciting spell with Manchester City. The now 29-year-old has enjoyed similar successes with Bayern Munich.
Could Spurs be in the mix? Realistically yes, as we do have form for arranging big deals for senior stars when the club feels that they need to be done, as we saw with Gareth Bale, William Gallas, and most recently, Ivan Perišić. These veterans have all offered lots to Tottenham.
We are aching for some senior influence in the squad, but ‘the only’ problem is, that Spurs are currently 14th in the division and the wow factor of the stadium and training felicities are unlikely to be enough in isolation to turn the head of such a star.
In one line, get your house in order, Tottenham!
