Spurs might get a chance to sign Germany ace in January

By Bruce Grove -

Spurs might get a chance to sign Antonio Rudiger in the January transfer window after his national team manager revealed that he will try to leave Chelsea again in the winter transfer window.

The German defender has been displaced from the Chelsea starting XI by the arrival of Thiago Silva.

He wanted to leave Chelsea in this transfer window and Spurs were one of the teams that wanted to sign him.

He also wanted to join the Lilywhites before changing his mind, according to a report in the Athletic.

Germany manager, Joachim Low has revealed that he has been in touch with the defender as he looked to leave Stamford Bridge.

He claimed that the defender wants to be a part of the national team at the next Euros and he did his best to leave Chelsea before the transfer window closed, but it wasn’t enough and he will remain at the club for now, but he will try to move again when the window opens in January.

“I’ve been keeping an eye on things the last few days, what happened in the final hours [of the transfer window], how many changes there were at the last minute. I think a lot of players will get game time this season – 11 players can’t get you through a whole season,” the Germany boss told a press conference via Goal.com.

“I was in constant contact with Toni Rudiger, he was keeping me in the loop. He had three or four options over the weekend but unfortunately, nothing materialised – he can try again in the winter.

“He can put in a great performance even without a few weeks of match practice. I’ve been walking the path with him over the past few years and we’ve had a dialogue since the very beginning. His development over the past four or five years has been great.

“He has established himself as a top international player. In terms of athleticism, dynamism and tough duels, he maintains his top level for a few weeks even without match practice.

“He tried everything to leave Chelsea because the European Championship is very important to him. I think he’ll try to leave again in the winter. He’s doing everything he can to stay in his best form.”

Or the a welsh boy, I’m thinking Jose would prefer another target though.

I’m sure this Rudiger thing is just mischief by the press to get clicks. Cheatski won’t deal with us, the accusations he made trying to taint us. Is he even that great? Better than Sanchez could be again?

As long as the (insert word banned on here) puts out a statement apologising to Spurs fans I would accept him at my club if JoMo wants him.
Can he jump against lanky forwards?

Rather have the Swansea lad than this guy. Don’t do business with Chelski.

Personally wouldn’t like us to sign him after falsely accusing our fans of racist abuse, which he has form for.

If we sell Alli in January we might have a chance to sign a central defender on a permanent contract…and I just don’t think it’d be Rudiger in that scenario.
