Some Senior Figures Within Spurs Furious & Agree On Mourinho Situation At Club

By The Boy -

Obviously, the loss of the North London Derby and being spat out of the Europa League Cup competition in such short order has caused a fair degree of reaction, indeed revulsion, far and wide.

A source close to the club tells me that senior non-executive figures within the club have privately expressed nothing but dismay towards the performances of many first-team players.

Accusations from these experienced individuals included an absence of passion, self-respect, and a willingness to fight. Furthermore, these figures have such privileges within the club that they also feel that José Mourinho’s methods both in respect of training and tactics have been sound and very achievable, yet a number of the players appear not to feel that everything applies to them.

These figures were absolutely furious watching the game and feel that many players have let the club and themselves down.

This information is not passed forward for reinterpretation was the message that accompanied it. Should any readers wish to scream that Mourinho has therefore lost the dressing room, those readers would be inventing their own version of matters.

If one factor in the severe nature of what both Hugo and José said last night, then the notion that Mourinho is [insert pejorative] does not add up.

Levy has to sell at the right price. Not likely, is it?

Sissoko one of our better players! Really? He had been in the Dier vein of form. He has been shite all season. When I see Sissoko coming on I see the game being closed out for the opposition

Did we not end up with lo noso as opposed to Bruno Fernandes as the latter was too expensive… ultimately the clubs that shop in John Lewis tend to get better value than those who shop in Debenhams…

I think even if this were possible getting rid of so many sqaud players really should be done over 2-3 transfer windows. I would start with Alli, Winks, Doherty & Aurrier & not renew Bales loan term. I actually thought Davies was one of our better players Thursday, and although Sissoko had a mare Thursday he has generally been one of our better players this season.

Spot On. Levy uses a scattergun technique with the scattergun set to ‘low fee – high potential resale’. No wonder it’s all very hit and miss…

I’ve come to the conclusion that after initially thinking he might be a great signing, that Bergwijn is actually very average indeed. Nacer Chadli was better than this guy…

Whoever these senior figures at the club might be, Levy’s stance on managers is unlikely to change.

In his mind, players are assets with a market value, the asset manager is the football manager in this case. Therefore if there is a decline in the value of those assets, the asset manager is replaced.

Regardless of the circumstances around said decline,”it’s what you’re paid to do, you were happy to take the job under these constraints, either make it work or bye bye…”. That will be the size of it I’m afraid…

I remember when Sissoko and Davies signed new deals not long before Poch left . He said both were a club decision, nothing to do with him.

Jose cannot be without responsibility, sure I fully accept that winning the league with this lot looks rather unlikely. However, these two results should not be happening id the management are properly earning their corn.

Or are they just trying to get sacked now?

I agree we need a shake up but I think Jose needs to go as well. I don’t think he’s the right man to build a squad with us, especially with the inevitable constraints he will be working within at Spurs. He is also now stained by yet another period of ENIC failure. In retrospect, if Poch had been poached about a year or two before he was sacked and Mourhinio had taken over then, we might have some trophies in the bag. But it didn’t happen and we were really back to square one before he had a chance. Now it’s time to restart the building process – AGAIN, even though it’s going to end up how it always does. I just can’t stand another season like this. I don’t even want to watch us play this year. It’s either deadly dull or depressing. So for me it’s time to hit ctrl alt delete on a fair amount of complacent players and the manager, because the real problem is going nowhere. Also, there are times when I thoroughly disagree with Mr Hotspur, but he was so right about ENIC, the shopping mall, training ground ect so fair play and dothed cap to him because so many people bought the hype.

That said, improving a squad’s quality is a must during every summer, just to refresh and clear our the oldies for starters. I’m definitely not saying we don’t need improvements.

Regarding sub standard players; remember this is the squad which put us top of the league, thrashed manure and beat city earlier in this very season. They clearly can do it. It’s keeping them doing it.

I was thinking that through in relation to our gaffer’s statement that the problem isn’t quality but “attitude”. He has also said at various times and in various ways that he regards the squad as good quality in skills if not, in every case, attitude. So if he’s right, and he’s a trophy laden winner so he must be, then getting rid of the worst and most influential problem players might lead to a change of attitude in others allowing their better qualities to come to the fore.

We obviously have a clique or two who are disrupting and poisoning the squad but getting rid of them will not make sub-standard footballers any better. We definitely need to get rid of the troublemakers but we also need to improve the quality of footballers in the squad.

Might be no need to dump 8 or 9 players, sometimes getting rid of the right 2 or 3 will completely change the dynamic and attitude within a team. I’ve seen that happen in the workplace and imagine many of you have too. It can bring on remaining slackers too. Things can change quickly and radically in football as we well know, though what manner of change is the interesting bit.

Of course the players feel bullet proof, your evidence is one Mr Rose, it will take 4 seasons to get rid of him after Poch wanted him gone, Daniel Levy decided he wanted to give him between 12 and 15 million pounds( I haven’t a clue on his wages) after that Sun interview. Would Fergie have taken that, of course not but that sends a message who’s in charge and it’s not Mr Head coach in any form.

Bergwijn is just one of those frustrating players, we always seem to sign these players that might turn out good. Players which were the cheaper option rather than the real quality options.

You don’t need to buy loads of players, you just need to buy top quality players.

Anyone above 90% on the list should be looking for pastures new. The revenue of cash lost to the club from the competition because of these frauds is colossal in these times. Why cannot clubs sack players. Last night was dereliction of duty and malpractice. I stick by Maureen. So should the club. Put the shysters up for sale forthwith. Dier, Sissoko, Winks, Davies, Alli, Doherty, Aurier. I’d swap em tooth and nail for the Croatian guys from last night.

We (Czech Republic) will be playing England in the EUROs, and I confess – if I see Dier on the team sheet, I will feel like we’ve been given a decent chance by Southgate.

Makes a lot of sense. I remember hearing that Microsoft used to hire people who had failed in previous jobs, because these people were more likely to recognise their shortcomings and improve themselves than people who had always found it easy. So yes, Scott Parker may be apossibility. But I think the problems lie above Mourinho.

I know, getting rid of too many players at once isn’t an option, just wishful thinking.

Hard to argue with the players you picked. I think most of them have to go. I would keep Bergwijn, as he’s young and could be a top player if he improves his composure. He’s one whose potential and desire I actually don’t doubt. Possibly – if we buy a good, leader CB – we could keep Sanchez, as he plays well when next to an actual defender.

Dier, Dele, Winks, Sissoko and Doherty should go as soon as possible, Vini and Bale will probably be sent back; later, I would replace Davies and Aurier (if he doesn’t improve).

Spot on mate – Mourinho has his faults but he is “our bastard” now and the same six or 7 players who got Poch sacked are 80-85% responsible for the situation we find ourselves in. We were top of the league in December FFS and now look at us??. Mass summer clearout needed but it will be expensive. If anyone thinks that Nagelsmann or Rodgers can get a tune out of Sissoko/Winks/Dele in midfield and Dier, Sanchez, Davies, Aurier in defence and somehow turn them into world beaters then they need their head testing and are deluded. I’d sell all 7 of them and Doherty and Lloris too this summer although the latter was 100% right to call the players out yesterday.

Mourinho bought Doherty and loves Dier, that’s down to him.

Dele, Winks, Sissoko, Bergwijn, Sanchez, Davies, Aurier, Bale Vini are either not good enough, past it, not the right attitude.

That’s 11 players there, all in our 25 man squad.

If we don’t renew on Bale, looks highly unlikely and send Vini back to Benfica, that leaves us with 9 we need to move on. Realistically what value are we getting for those, Dele at one stage people said he was worth 50m, we would be lucky to get 10m now.

We then have the small issue of Toby, Harry and Son maybe not wanting to stick around. Possibly Hugo as well.

You can’t do this all at once, this is football manager on the Playstation territory. This is hugely destabilising and you risk good players being unsettled and wanting out (not sure what good players are left).

With the way Levy messes around we will have 15 players leaving on deadline day with 4 loan signings, a wagon wheel and a grapefruit coming in.

I can’t see how Mourinho has a hope in hell of turning it around. If the players can’t be bothered to play, we won’t win any games, that puts further pressure on the Manager as we slip down the table. Until. The chairman is left with no choice as there will be utter anarchy.

The chairman is inept, he is the root cause of this mess.

I don’t like Mourinho, i do think he is outdated, i don’t like his style of football, but, i don’t think he ever really had much chance to be a success here.

I support Spurs, it’s bloody painful, it’s miserable, but i do want the manager and team to succeed.

Under this muppet that isn’t possible

I’ve had exactly the same feelings about Mourinho. I was a bit reluctant at first, because I remembered all the “bus parking”, “negativity”, “falling out with players” cr-p I’d read about him. Plus he was successful at Chelsea twice.

However, seeing the squad give up on Poch and now doing the same to Jose makes me furious. They have never won a thing for us but still can think of any competition as beneath them? And then have the gall to look like they’re actually doing us, the fans, a favour by playing for Spurs?

Disgraceful. I haven’t felt so angry with Spurs players in all my time as a fan, and I would love to see these wasters hit the road.

I’m glad to hear this, I hope Levy sticks with Jose and he gets an opportunity to build his own team. I really thought he was goosed after last night. Is there any chance a penny might drop with Uncle Joe to move Levy aside into a property management role and hire a director of football that knows about running a football team and get Jose the players he wants.

Or we could get in Scotty too Hotty who is about to be relegated with Fulham.

Sadly Premier League football is different to normal life. You could pay somebody off in Civvy St and hire somebody new. But it would cost a fortune we haven’t got to replace the seven or eight we need shot of.

James McKevitt

Most of us agree on what should happen, get shot of the wasters and replace them. But that would cost much more than sacking Mourinho, so we can see the chairman taking the “easy way out”.

I was never a Mourinho fan before he joined us but I am now. A bunch of lazy, arrogant losers who have won Tottenham nothing are trying to destroy a manager who love him or loathe him has proven himself to be one of the best ever.

I have seen much much worse players talent wise wear Tottenham shirts but I have never witnessed a Tottenham team as spineless as most of that starting eleven against Zagreb, a lot of them quit on Poch too, so I shouldn’t really be surprised.

I wonder where that leaves us. If the senior figures, just like some of us here, truly see the players for what they are, does that mean Jose will be retained and then backed in the summer? Can we really get rid of those players lacking and replace them with people of substance?

The manager said it best himself “At this moment, we are speaking about football, we could be speaking about any area in society. The basics of every job are the honesty, the commitment, the desire, the respect for the people that expect that you do good work. All these ingredients, that’s what I expect to have every day.”

We don’t have that. Honesty, commitment, desire, respect, none of that was on display last night, nor in the derby.

Ideally, the players will be informed they are on borrowed time and they have the last 11 games of the season (10 in the league and the cup final) to show if they have what it takes – and if not, they will not play for us again. I don’t think slow changes will do the trick. If at all possible, we should wipe the slate clean.
