Spurs have advantage over Arsenal in the race for Real Madrid man

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham and Arsenal are battling for the signature of Real Madrid man, Lucas Vazquez, but the Lilywhites have the advantage.

The Spaniard has an expiring deal and reports in Spain earlier claimed that he has rejected an extension.

He is one of lowest paid players in Madrid and their latest offer doesn’t improve on his current deal, instead, it comes with a 10% cut on what he is earning at the moment.

They have left the winger disappointed with the offer and he looks set to leave them at the end of this season.

Mundo Deportivo via Sport Witness says Spurs and Arsenal are the two English teams looking to sign him.

The attacker wants a new team where he would be paid well, but that doesn’t mean he would join any side that moves for him.

The report claims that he wants a team that can offer Champions League football.

With that in mind, Spurs have the advantage, considering that they are the closest to the top four among both sides.

The Lilywhites’ win over Aston Villa has moved them to within 3 points of the top four and winning their next few games could help them enter the Champions League places.
